About the Role
The Assistant General Counsel, Litigation will be responsible for managing complex commercial litigation and disputes for FTI Consulting, Inc. This position will report to the Deputy General Counsel and will work closely with business segment leaders and other members of the Legal Department to provide strategic legal advice and counsel on a wide range of litigation matters.
Key Responsibilities
Manage complex commercial litigation and disputes, including case strategy, discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation
Supervise and manage outside counsel, including selection, oversight, and budget management
Provide strategic legal advice to senior management on litigation risks and mitigation strategies
Collaborate with business segment leaders to identify and address potential legal risks
Draft and review pleadings, motions, and other legal documents
Develop and implement litigation hold procedures and manage document preservation and collection efforts
Develop and implement dispute resolution strategies
Provide training to business units on litigation avoidance and risk management
Stay current on relevant legal developments and trends

What You’ll Need to Succeed
Basic Qualifications
J.D. degree from an accredited law school
15+ years of experience in complex commercial litigation, preferably with experience in both law firm and in-house settings
Active membership in at least one state bar
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments
Experience managing outside counsel and legal budgets
Experience with e-discovery tools and processes
This role may require travel to clients and FTI offices
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; this position will not sponsor applicants for work visas.
Knowledge of professional services industry preferred
