FTI Consulting, Inc.’s Legal Department is seeking an employment attorney to provide advice and counsel to Human Resource professionals and other business partners located in the U.S. and its global offices. 

 As Associate General Counsel, the attorney is responsible for assisting the General Counsel and Human Resources department in the management and handling of all employment related matters in the Company. This position is located either in FTI’s headquarters in Washington, DC or the Legal Department offices in Baltimore, MD. 

 Job Summary: 

The position's responsibilities include being the principal point of contact on legal matters with Human Resources to provide support for employment matters on a variety of complex employment issues including but not limited to: 

• Partnering with the HR team to provide legal advice on a broad range of employment practice matters such as discrimination/harassment, internal investigations, employee discipline/involuntary terminations, and other jurisdictional regulations. 
• Providing consultation and oversight on international employment matters. 
• Managing outside counsel on various items including litigation. 
• Reviewing/drafting employee-related agreements and policies and procedures across multiple global jurisdictions. 
• Conducting training on legal requirements and developments. 
• Working knowledge of employment laws across multiple countries 
• Comfortable implementing new programs, procedures and challenging current processes. 
• Responsible for interpreting new regulations. 
• Support M&A and divestitures/site closures. 
• Responsibility for data privacy policies and procedures. 
• Other tasks as assigned. 

Requirements: 

• Must have a JD degree from an accredited law school. 
• Must have a minimum of fifteen years of employment experience with a corporate legal department or a nationally recognized law firm.

• Able to interact with stakeholders and leaders in a highly matrixed yet collaborative organization 
• Committed to being a legal business partner to internal clients 
• Experience in employment law and litigation is a must
