About The Role
As a Consultant on the Cybersecurity & Data Privacy Communications team, you will take a supportive role in developing and managing crisis communications response strategies for companies facing active cybersecurity attacks or threats. Additionally, this position will work on cybersecurity communications preparedness projects, tabletop exercises, and other specialized offerings within the Cybersecurity & Data Privacy Communications practice.
As part of a team, you will support the development and execution of multi-stakeholder communications activities for clients experiencing cybersecurity incidents such as ransomware attacks, nation-state attacks, incidents involving critical infrastructure and other key operational disruptions, attacks on major Fortune500 corporations, among others.
The Consultant should have a strong work ethic, solid written communications skills, proficiency in AI tools, and an ability to easily interact with and collaborate with members of the Cyber & Data Privacy Communications team at all levels. This position should be comfortable attending calls with clients and external law firms/other partners to help to assess the situation, work with senior leaders to create a response strategy or proposal and develop corresponding deliverables. This role requires an interest in cybersecurity and data privacy issues, a willingness to learn, the ability to shift/be flexible in a fast-paced environment, and a team-first attitude.
What You’ll Do
Develop the first draft of multi-stakeholder communications messaging, and collateral around active cybersecurity incidents, including customer, employee, and investor communications, FAQs, media statements, and more
Support the development of a communications strategy for clients experiencing active cybersecurity incidents
Conduct scenario planning for likely outcomes and develop corresponding communications strategies and messaging
Aid in the development of content for cybersecurity tabletop exercises and cybersecurity crisis communications plans
Support research and non billable projects to contribute to building the team’s brand and new business prospects
Effectively manage time across multiple projects and balance a variety of active incidents

What You Will Need To Succeed
Basic Requirements
Bachelor's degree in relevant field
Up to 2 years of relevant professional experience with a background in crisis/issues management and/or cybersecurity
Ability to work under pressing deadlines across multiple projects and an understanding of effective time management
Strong communication and writing skills
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; this position does not provide visa sponsorship
Ability to travel to clients and FTI office(s) as needed
Preferred Qualifications
Prior client service, consulting, or agency experience is preferred
Graduate degree in a relevant field
Proficient in use of AI tools
Demonstrated interest in cybersecurity and data privacy
