About The Opportunity:
Our Dispute Advisory Services (DAS) practice assists early stage to Fortune 500 companies, and plaintiffs' and defendants' counsel with complex applied-economic, financial, and accounting issues in dispute and non-dispute related assignments involving:
- Securities, accounting, and regulatory enforcement matters
Commercial disputes - Financial product matters (including securities, options, MBS, derivatives, and AML).
- Intellectual property matters, Antitrust, Labor and Employment
- Valuation, restructuring, and solvency matters (including ability to pay, alter ego, fraudulent conveyance, and solvency)
We are looking for a finance professional with a minimum of one year of experience to provide litigation consulting support. Qualified candidates should have an understanding of valuation, accountancy, finance and economics. Candidates should have strong analytical skills and an eye for detail. Responsibilities include performing industry and market analysis, preparing quantitative analysis, and reporting findings in a clear, concise manner. We are looking for financial professionals to execute a broad range of data and analytical techniques to support our client’s needs.
Primary Duties:
- Performs day-to-day activities in support of forensic and litigation consulting projects including interaction with client personnel, other team members, and professionals from other firms involved in the engagement.
- Performs technical, industry, and company research utilizing online tools and publicly available information, develops work plans and executes analyses to assess complex unstructured problems, assists in preparing reports and schedules summarizing findings that will be delivered to clients and other parties.
- Effectively create, organize and maintain document lists and other methods for internal document management.
- Organizes information to facilitate effective data access and analysis.
- Maintains detailed working paper records reflecting assumptions, methodologies, and sources of information employed during the performance of all analytical tasks.
- Delivers a high quality product within established timeframes and budgets.
- Prepares written analyses and other reports for third parties, as necessary, on the project scope and/or results of activities.
- Prepares presentations and quantitative exhibits for third parties on the project scope and findings
- Develops and maintains productive working relationships with client personnel.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Master’s Degree in accounting, finance, economics, or related field
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
- Eligibility to work in the United States
Preferred Skills:
- One plus years of finance or accounting experience
- Understanding of the principal concepts in some or all of: valuation, accountancy, finance and economics
- Analytical and issue resolution intelligence, problem solving is essential
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Well-developed aptitude for quantitative and qualitative analysis
- Ability to work independently in fast-paced, multi-tasked environment
- Ability to interface with team members and client personnel in demanding, deadline-driven situations
- Ability and willingness to learn and adapt in an ever changing environment to meet client needs
- Proficient with PC environments and related software, including Microsoft
- Office applications, especially advanced skills in Excel
- Proficient use and analysis of computer models and development of dynamic spreadsheet applications
- Desire to work towards ABV, CFF, CFA, CFE, CPA, ASA, CVA or other professional designation
