What Are We Looking For?
- Bachelor’s degree required in Communications, Public Relations, Public/Government Affairs, Marketing or a related field
- 1-2 years of communications agency and/or state/federal government experience, including strong internships
- Must have a solid grasp of government affairs/lobbying, public affairs, public relations, including traditional media relations experience, as well as digital and social media program management experience
- Must possess superior research, public policy, writing and editing skills, attention to detail, and concise analysis of legislative bills, hearings, markups, etc. and deliver those report to various clients
What Else Are We Looking For?
- Demonstrated development of a professional network and experience with media contacts and Capitol Hill Experience with popular blogging tools, publishing software and other social media platforms (i.e., Twitter) required
- Proven project management skills and the ability to proactively support/counsel key client relationship
- Strong time and priority management skills and an ability to effectively juggle multiple client projects
- Desire and ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking, deadline-oriented dynamic team environment with regular change
- Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel and Word
- Understanding of Associated Press Style Guidelines
- Ability to use legislative databases
- Strong understanding of the legislative process
