About The Role As Valuation And Damages Consultant
In this role as valuation and damages consultant based in Bogotá, Colombia, you will typically undertake tasks such as analyzing accounting and financial data, preparing models and documenting your work. You are expected to communicate effectively with other team members, and to take an interest in how your work fits into the overall project plan. You will work with senior members of the team and receive internal training, on-the-job coaching and mentoring.
The role provides analytical and strategic support to expert testifiers, counsel and clients locally and internationally in litigation and arbitration proceedings, as well as the opportunity to work with clients and helping provide valuation and other economic advice.
The ideal candidate will have:
Strong analytical and quantitative skills, paired with a strong finance and accounting background, including economic modeling.
Solid communication skills (written and verbal), including the ability to concisely explain complicated concepts to clients and staff within and outside of the firm.
Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment.
A positive, professional, and solutions-oriented attitude.
Commitment to working in a team environment with an emphasis on collaboration and maintaining positive relationships with colleagues and clients across functions.

What You’ll Do
The consultant will assist team leaders in providing analytical support and advisory services in the context of fast-moving dispute resolution matters across a wide range of industries.
Examples of activities performed in this role:
Produce discrete pieces of economic analysis that contribute to, for example, calculating lost profits and damages caused by the conduct at issue, using company financial records, business plans and publicly available quantitative research. This includes economic modeling (counter-factual / but for modeling) mostly based on discounted cash flow (DCF) modeling.
Understand, synthesize, and analyze large volumes of data associated with complex litigation cases. This includes accounting records review and related documents.
Conduct research using a variety of resources including specialist applications such as S&P Capital IQ
Write research memos for discussion with clients and senior team leaders. These memos detail the assumptions, economic methodologies, and the results of analysis performed.
Collaborate on the drafting of expert reports, for submission to the court/tribunal.
Critically appraise reports and analyses produced by other firms and experts
Independently manage project workstreams, including regularly updating analysis, tracking documents and communicating this to the rest of your project team
Process and clean large data sets produced by parties in a litigation using statistical and analytical skills.

What You Will Need To Succeed
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Finance, Industrial Engineering or a related quantitative field.
2+ years of relevant work experience with valuation analysis and other quantitative analysis (e.g., econometric and statistical modeling, forecasting models).
Strong writing and verbal communication skills in Spanish and English.
Full proficiency in English.
Project management experience that includes interacting with and presenting to senior-level team members and clients
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in valuation and accounting maters.
Experience in damages assessments.
Experience on statistical analysis software (e.g., Stata, R, Python).
Master’s Degree in Economics, Finance, or a related quantitative field.
Technical writing skills (e.g., expert report writing, footnotes and citations, formatting tables and figures).
