About the Role

FTI Consulting's Strategic Communications team in Singapore is seeking an experienced crisis communications professional to lead the expansion of our cybersecurity preparedness and incident response practice across Asia.

This is a specialized role requiring deep expertise in cyber crisis management, breach response, and the technical landscape of cybersecurity threats. While broad corporate communications capabilities are important, the primary focus is advising clients through complex cyber incidents—from data breaches and ransomware attacks to supply chain compromises and nation-state threats.

Our Singapore office has an established track record in integrated corporate communications. This role extends that foundation into cybersecurity crisis advisory, an area of significant growth and strategic priority for the firm. You'll work directly with Tom Evrard and senior team members to build client relationships across the region, particularly with law firms, incident response firms, and in-house security teams.

This is both a client-facing and business development role. Success requires equal parts technical fluency in cybersecurity, crisis management expertise, and the ability to cultivate trusted advisor relationships throughout Asia's legal and corporate communities.

We place significant emphasis on collaboration, supporting each other's growth while encouraging a diverse and inclusive culture. This role offers substantial opportunity for career advancement aligned with your own aspirations.

Responsibilities

Cybersecurity Crisis & Preparedness (Primary Focus)

  • Lead client response during active cyber incidents, including breach notification, stakeholder communications, and media management

  • Advise clients on cyber crisis preparedness, including scenario planning, tabletop exercises, and response playbook development

  • Demonstrate fluency with cybersecurity terminology, threat actors, attack vectors, and the incident response lifecycle

  • Collaborate with technical forensics teams, legal counsel, and C-suite executives during high-stakes incidents

  • Develop communications strategies for ransomware events, data exfiltration, regulatory disclosures, and business continuity

Client Service & Account Management

  • Lead and take accountability for client servicing, media relations, and local/regional account management

  • Provide day-to-day strategic counsel to clients navigating reputation risk and crisis situations

  • Help clients identify, escalate, and communicate risks with integrity and precision

Business Development

  • Drive new business development across Asia, with emphasis on cybersecurity and crisis-related opportunities

  • Build and nurture relationships with law firms, forensics providers, insurers, and corporate legal/security teams

  • Represent FTI Consulting at industry conferences, roundtables, and networking events

  • Contribute to thought leadership and market positioning in the cyber crisis space

Team Leadership & Development

  • Work with the highly motivated Singapore and regional team to strengthen our Corporate Communications and Cyber practices

  • Lead creation of high-quality written proposals for existing and prospective clients

  • Support and mentor junior team members

  • Provide input toward the firm's strategic direction in the market

Firm Culture & Standards

  • Understand and embody FTI's values, Code of Ethics, and Strategic Communications Rules of Practice

  • Support marketing and promotional activities in Asia related to our global cybersecurity offering

  • Work with junior staff to embed ethical standards within the firm's culture

Required Qualifications

  • 5-10 years of crisis communications experience, with demonstrated expertise in cybersecurity incident response

  • Proven track record managing clients through data breaches, ransomware attacks, or other cyber crises

  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity threats, incident response processes, regulatory requirements (e.g., PDPA, GDPR, SEC cyber rules), and the threat landscape

  • Experience working alongside legal counsel, forensics teams, and technical experts during incidents

  • Established relationships or demonstrable ability to build networks with law firms and corporate counsel across Asia

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with ability to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences

  • Business development orientation with track record of identifying and converting new opportunities

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree or cybersecurity certifications a plus
