About The Role

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Data Scientist to support strategy and client objectives through analytics and insights. The successful candidate will assist in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to inform business decisions and optimize program performance. Working closely with the Data Science and Insights team, the candidate will have deep understanding of data analysis techniques and visualization tools, and a strong interest in using data to uncover trends and drive measurable impact. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working with large datasets, supporting the development of KPIs or OKRs, and contributing to the continuous improvement of analytics frameworks.

 

In FTI's Strategic Communications segment, we provide our clients with a comprehensive view of strategic communications that leverages our integrated suite of services, including financial communications, corporate reputation, transaction communications and public affairs in all the major markets around the world.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Assist in collecting, cleaning, and organizing structured and unstructured data from various sources.
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies using tools such as Python, R, Excel, or SQL.
  • Support the development and testing of predictive models and machine learning algorithms under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Create data visualizations and dashboards using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across sectors—including financial communications, energy, and industrials to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Document analysis workflows, assumptions, and results to ensure transparency and reproducibility.
  • Contribute to the preparation of reports, presentations, and data-driven insights for internal stakeholders or clients.
  • Assist in maintaining data pipelines and ensuring data integrity and quality in ongoing projects.
  • Stay current with new tools, technologies, and best practices in data science and analytics.
  • Provide general support on analytics tasks as needed, including ad-hoc data pulls and basic statistical testing.

What You Will Need To Succeed  

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 4 years of experience in a related function
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language used for data analysis (e.g., Python or R).
  • Familiarity with SQL and experience querying relational databases.
  • Basic understanding of statistical methods and machine learning concepts.
  • Previous experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, matplotlib, or similar).
  • Ability to clean, organize, and manipulate large datasets using common libraries (e.g., pandas, numpy).
  • Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to clearly communicate data findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Eagerness to learn and grow in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communications skills, including ability to successfully contribute to a fast-paced team environment and to be responsive to ever-changing sector and client needs.
  • Ability to supervise and conduct research and contribute to development of client-ready recommendations.
  • Experience gathering and analyzing social media conversation data to derive insights and tell a story.
  • Travel required to clients and to FTI office(s).
