About the opportunity:
Within the Business Transformation group, the Office of the CFO supports CFO’s agenda to optimize use for technology to improve finance & accounting processes, bring transparency in technology cost and improve finance and operational reporting capabilities. Finance IT is integral for smooth and effective enterprise operation and provides timely insights from both finance and operation data to improve performance.
The ideal candidate in this role will bring a minimum of 6+ years of on-point project management with financial management systems or IT due diligence and implementation experience in carve-outs and merger integrations (IT/Ops Due Diligence, Carve-out/Merger Integration planning), in a similar type advisory environment and/or in a corporate office. The Director will collaborate with various client teams to plan, design and execute the key design decisions to facilitate finance technology implementation progress, manage change/user adoption and comply with scope. Additionally, ideal candidate with have experience in supporting COO/CIOs in their enterprise cost reduction initiatives with heavy focus on Technology function.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support engagements pertaining to SG&A optimization, IT cost benchmarking, IT Spend Transparency or M&A cost modeling with strong IT focus
• Perform analysis of as-is business processes and technology and ensure functional requirements are documented and prioritized working with the Finance and Accounting business stakeholders
• Play a key role in documenting new business processes, capabilities and solution design
• Act as a liaison between technical team, business functions, and System Integrator to drive implementation progress including cross-module integration and reporting
• Perform hands-on solution design analysis, solution architecture assessment and roadmap identification for Finance IT applications, including, ERP, FP&A Solutions and more
• Assist in testing of new business processes, capabilities, and as appropriate their supporting technologies
• Participate in IT due diligence for a carve-out or merger & integration transaction and develop technology roadmap for the new entity
• Provide strategic insight to clients on their IT finance management by conducting current state assessments and enhance operating model and processes to optimize common taxonomy, KPIs and reporting flow between IT and Finance.
• Familiarity with key Finance processes (Order to Cash, Procure to Pay, Business Planning, Budgeting and Forecasting)
• Handled various assignments from the CIO/CFO or senior technology leadership
• Support communication and change management efforts working with the end users and assist with troubleshooting both application and business process issues, with a focus on early intervention and quick corrective action
• Document use case for descriptive and predictive analytics in the context of FP&A and business finance
• Manage independent workstreams at client and drive high-quality to completion with minimal oversight
• Be responsible to discuss and present the engagement findings and analytics to an audience of senior executives
Qualification and Experience Required:
6+ years of combined finance and technology experience (in management consulting or corporate environment) and a Bachelor's degree, preferably in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or related Business / IT discipline.
Prior experience should include a combination of the following:
• Strong experience in financial technology in IT (including systems integration and mapping) and/or business analytics
• Knowledge of the ERP and EPM functions and processes
• Prior experience in integrating boundary applications with ERP system
• Prior experience in developing data analytics solutions including data transformations and data visualization
• Prior IT due diligence experience is a plus
• Sound understanding of IT Budgeting processes and experience in assisting with project costing and ROI analysis
• Handled various assignments from the CIO/CFO or senior technology leadership
• Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills (MS Visio, PowerPoint, Excel, Word etc.)
• Excellent teamwork, ethics, client-facing and interpersonal skills
Management Consulting skills desired:
• Demonstrated ability to understand client needs, translate business needs into requirements, develop proposed solutions, and deliver high impact change initiatives
• Experience in helping clients improve their ability to drive business outcomes through planning, reporting, and analytics.
• Demonstrated experience working through organizational change, with a demonstrated track record of continuing responsibilities, creativity and innovation, including evidence of solution design
• Strong project management skills (e.g., defining scope, setting project timelines and milestones, driving deliverables, identifying risks, and managing issues)
• Demonstrated insights on key methodologies, approaches and market trends in the industry
• Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills (MS Visio, PowerPoint, Excel, Word etc.)
• Excellent teamwork, ethics, client-facing and interpersonal skills
