About the Role
The Corporate Positioning & Insights practice within Strategic Communications enables our clients to solve their most complex communications and reputation management challenges using a product-driven, AI-centric approach.
We are seeking a Director, Data Scientist & Engineer to serve as both a senior technical contributor and a hands-on analytics practitioner. This role sits at the intersection of software engineering and applied data science. You will design and maintain the systems that power our AI tools while also conducting the analysis and model development that delivers value to clients. You will work closely with engineers, data scientists, and client stakeholders to ensure our solutions are scalable, insightful, and user-friendly.
As a Director, Full Stack Engineer, you will be a senior technical contributor and team leader at the heart of our technology capability, driving the delivery of complex solutions that align with our strategic business objectives.
What You’ll Do
You will be responsible for analyzing, designing, developing, integrating, testing, and deploying new and existing software systems. You will work with data scientists, technical leads, and client executives to deliver high-quality systems with a focus on reliability and excellent customer experience, becoming a trusted technical advisor throughout engagements.
Technical Delivery:
Design and implement cloud hosted APIs and microservices
Develop, optimize, and prescribe cloud hosted data storage components, data models, and retrieval solutions
Integrate authentication and authorization mechanisms
Explore and implement interactions with AI/LLM systems, including agentic workflows, vector stores, and embedding-based search
Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize system performance and reliability
Lead CI/CD pipeline development and infrastructure-as-code initiatives
Technical Leadership:
Lead the technical delivery of solutions, ensuring quality and managing operational risks
Solve complex problems using proven methods and evaluative criteria
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers on the team
Contribute to architectural decisions with potential broad business impact
Travel as needed to meet client needs and project requirements

What You’ll Need to Succeed
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors degree and 5+ years of relevant experience
Experience building large-scale distributed systems technologies
Proficiency in object-oriented programming and application development quality assurance processes
Experience with infrastructure as Code and collaborative code versioning (e.g., Git/GitHub, Subversion)
Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to engage with clients on business needs and translate them into technical solutions
Self-motivated, critical thinker with a demonstrated ability to drive outcomes independently
Preferred Qualifications:
Full-stack, data, or analytics engineering experience spanning frontend and backend
Experience mentoring and growing technical talent
Experience with AI/ML platforms and large language model integration, including agentic workflows, and traditional NLP.
Familiarity with data science workflows and tooling
Hands-on experience with: Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Python, Spark, React
Full-stack, data, or analytics engineering experience spanning frontend and backend
Experience mentoring and growing technical talent
Experience with AI/ML platforms and large language model integration, including agentic workflows
Familiarity with data science workflows and tooling
Hands-on experience with: Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Python, Spark, React
