- Investigation of entitlement and quantification of time and money claims
- Preparation of expert reports and expert testimony
- Assisting with commercial management on large infrastructure projects
- Consulting services related to delivery and execution of capital programs
What you’ll be doing…
- Research and analyze project documents, construction cost data and accounts to identify and quantify claims for additional costs and damages
- Perform detailed cost analyses related to prolongation, disruption, acceleration, delay mitigation, lost productivity, overheads, and loss of profit
- Prepare high quality and substantiated construction claim reports and expert witness reports
- Review and analyze claims submitted by opposing experts or consultants
- Present findings at meetings and dispute resolution hearings
- Assist owners or contractors with the commercial management of large projects to ensure contract compliance, implementation of cost monitoring systems, and project controls
- Implement or assist with corrective action plans related to the “recovery” of large capital projects
- Use and develop project specific financial models and tools
- Recruit, train, and mentor professionals who specialize in construction industry consulting and related litigation support
- Engage in business development activities
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Accounting or Quantity Surveying
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in construction industry, preferably focused on dispute resolution
- Proficient in Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and MS Project
- Experienced in preparing quantum claims and/or expert reports
Preferred Skills:
- Previous testimony experience or strong desire to testify
- Ability to review and analyze contractors’ project costs
- High level of quantitative and qualitative research and analytical skills
- High level of proficiency with Excel, report writing and presentation using charts/graphics
- Understanding of CPM delay analysis, and experience with scheduling software (e.g. Primavera)
- One or more of the following certifications: licensed professional engineer (PE), certified public accountant (CPA), or professional/chartered quantity surveyor (PQS) or (RICS)
- Exhibits a strong executive presence and have a high level of interpersonal and presentation skills
- Proactive individual with strong drive, ambition, and enthusiasm
- Able to delegate and supervise the work of others
- Experience in business development activities
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize changing work loads
- Ability to work independently, exercise good judgment, and be resourceful
- Ability to work well under pressure
