Position Summary 

The Construction, Projects and Assets (CP&A) practice within FTIConsulting is a leading global provider of commercial management and dispute resolution services on complex projects across all construction, engineering and related industries.

Drawing on years of combined experience on some of the world’s most complex and mission-critical construction projects, FTI Consulting has a proven track record in providing solutions to help our clients reduce risk and to prevent, mitigate and resolve construction problems. 

 

About the Role

As Director of our Singapore branch, you will lead strategic planning and deliver expert delay analysis services on major construction and engineering projects across Asia, with occasional global assignments. This senior position blends technical proficiency, leadership, and business development to support clients facing complex contractual and commercial challenges.

You will be responsible for high-value commissions involving claims and disputes, particularly forensic delay analysis for extension of time and disruption claims. The role also includes managing expert witness assignments and contributing to the growth of both the team and the business.

 

What you’ll do

Project Delivery & Technical Expertise

  • Lead and deliver client mandates in claims and dispute resolution

  • Conduct forensic delay analysis for extension of time and cost-related claims

  • Provide strategic advice on contractual and commercial matters

  • Act as expert witness in formal dispute proceedings

Team Growth & Collaboration

  • Mentor and guide junior team members

  • Manage resource planning and promote collaboration

  • Foster knowledge sharing and technical excellence

  • Drive innovation and best practices in delay analysis

Business Development & Client Engagement

  • Identify and pursue business opportunities across the region

  • Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships

  • Represent the firm at industry events and professional forums

 

How You’ll Grow

 

  • In this dynamic role, you will collaborate with our global network of member firms and work alongside diverse teams across Asia and internationally. You'll gain valuable experience by supporting clients in navigating complex challenges and delivering effective, practical solutions.

  • Your professional development will be supported through a combination of hands-on project work, self-paced learning, and structured programs such as FTI’s Professional Milestones and internal training courses. These initiatives are designed to equip you for career advancement and new responsibilities.

Basic Qualification

  • Holds relevant professional qualifications in civil engineering, arbitration, or related disciplines

  • At least 10–15 years of demonstrable experience in delay analysis and dispute resolution within the construction or engineering sectors

  • Proven expertise in contract claims and dispute processes, including adjudication and arbitration

  • Skilled in drafting clear, defensible expert reports for dispute proceedings

  • Strong business development capabilities, including client relationship management

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with experience in client-facing roles

  • Prior experience acting as an expert witness is highly desirable

  • Willingness and ability to travel both regionally and internationally, as required

  • Flexibility to attend early or late meetings aligned with regional or global time zones
