Position Summary

 

Our Risk and Investigations practice conducts and supports research and investigations, uncovers actionable intelligence and performs value-added analysis to help decision-makers address and mitigate risk, protect assets, remediate compliance and make informed decisions regarding their investments and maximise opportunities. Our experts conduct independent investigations and research to help clients resolve a variety of issues. The areas of research may include support across areas such as:

  • Due diligence for mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and cross-border transactions;
  • Business intelligence to support decisions during transactions;
  • Fraud, Embezzlement and kickback investigations
  • Anti-bribery and foreign corruption (FCPA / UK Bribery Act) and Criminal Code investigations and risk assessments;
  • Asset searching;
  • Intellectual property theft and brand protection;
  • Whistleblower allegations; and
  • Political risk assessments.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Reporting to the Managing Director based in Hong Kong, your responsibilities will include:

  • To ensure the efficient management of complex assignments throughout the Asia-Pacific region including the writing and submitting of proposals and reports, and completion of all services related to the assignment (in house research and analysis, field work, etc).
  • Assist in identifying new clients and business opportunities through research, marketing and regional expertise.
  • To achieve client satisfaction in all aspects of the client relationship and a high level of professional service in every element of the business.
  • Proactive identification of new sources of information, and research tools and approaches as well as managing of these resources to achieve high quality and cost effectiveness.
  • Development and maintenance of effective relationships between the different business practice and offices including support of others requiring assistance or benefiting from the information access or capabilities of this position.
  • Occasional overseas travel within the Asia-Pacific region.

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 6-7 years investigative experience with focus in enhanced due diligence, research and investigation work. Candidates with more experiences will be considered as Senior Director. 
  • Broad professional experience, including prior international work experience/travel or experience working as part of a global dispersed team an advantage.
  • Demonstrated self starter and resourceful individual, with experience of operating in fast paced and dynamic operational settings.
  • A keen interest in fraud, business intelligence and due diligence work.
  • Strong leadership skills with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a supervisory position.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills essential.
  • Minimum Bachelors Degree - business major sought with evidence of continued professional or vocational learning.
