Position Summary

FTI Consulting’s Strategic Communications segment is seeking to hire an experienced communications practitioner to join an ambitious and growing team. The position is located in Shanghai / Beijing and the successful candidate will steer the practice. The candidate should have a proven ability to both service client companies on a day-to-day basis and contribute to new business development.  The candidate should also have a strong interest in developing a strategic approach to communications, excellent written and verbal communications skills and an ability to help manage junior team members as a collegiate team player. The candidate should be mature, results-oriented, and prepared to learn and utilise new approaches to communications as part of a leading global communications consultancy business.  

Key Responsibilities

•    Develop plans for business development.
•    Lead the creation of high-quality written business development proposals.
•    Day-to-day management of Corporate Communications and Financial Communications assignments.
•    Work with senior management to provide input towards the development of the firm’s strategic direction in the China market.
•    Provide input for the Shanghai office’s marketing and promotional activities in China and Asia.
•    Manage and mentor junior team members.

Key Requirements

•  Strong new business development skills is a MUST (writing business proposals, handle pitches and presentations etc.)
•  Fluency in English or Mandarin, both verbal and written, and near native fluency in the other languages
•  University degree or higher
•  Excellent presentation and project managementskills
•  Track record of driving corporate communications programmes for local and international clients 
•  Media relations and crisis and issues management experience
•  Ability to work independently and manage own time
•  A collegiate approach to working in a diverse team across the Asia region and globally

•  This role requires travel to clients and FTI offices.
