Expression of Interest - Risk & Compliance Consulting, Consultant to Managing Director Levels

Risk & Compliance Consulting
Key Areas of Focus
- Regulatory compliance & risk management-Aligning with APRA, ASIC, ATO, ASX, RBA, ICAC, AUSTRAC, ACCC, OAIC, Fair Work Ombudsman, and state-based anti-corruption commissions.
- Regulatory transformation - Helping clients meet evolving regulatory expectations and enforcement actions.
- Operational resilience & business continuity - Developing frameworks to help organisations anticipate, prepare for, and respond to disruptions, including cyber incidents, supply chain risks, and financial system shocks.
- Cybersecurity & digital risk- Addressing cyber threats, Al governance, data protection, technology risk, and compliance with CPS 234, ISO 27001, GDPR, ISM, and more.
- Third-party risk management - Managing risks related to sanctions, corruption, modern slavery, cybersecurity, operational resilience, and business intelligence on partners, counterparties, and prospective employees.
- Privacy advisory & data protection - advising on privacy frameworks ad regulatory compliance, including privacy impact assessments, consent management, cross-border data transfer and alignment with global standards such as GDPR and the Australian Privacy Act
Key Responsibilities
- Providing risk and compliance advisory to clients.
- Developing and implementing operational resilience strategies, including CPS 230 compliance and crisis preparedness.
- Conducting independent investigations and risk assessments (site visits, interviews, analytics, compliance gap assessments).
- Managing technology and digital transformation risks (cloud security, Al/ML risk governance, and data privacy).
- Leading high-impact projects with senior stakeholders in financial services, gaming, mining, government, telecommunications, construction, retail, and technology.
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships.
- Mentoring and developing teams in an inclusive and high-performing environment.
Qualifications & Experience
Consultant
- 1-3 years of experience in risk, compliance, or related fields
- Strong analytical and research skills
- Ability to interpret regulatory requirements and support risk assessments
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
Senior Consultant
- 3-5 years of experience in risk management, compliance, or financial crime
- Experience mentoring junior staff and supporting team development
- Ability to contribute to risk strategy and framework enhancements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Director
- 5-8 years of experience in risk, compliance, or consulting
- Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships and project teams
- Strong technical expertise in risk frameworks and regulatory requirements
- Ability to develop and lead client presentations and reports
Senior Director
- 8+ years of experience in risk and compliance consulting or a regulatory environment
- Proven track record of leading complex projects and teams
- Experience leading business development initiatives and managing key client relationships
- Strong business development and client management skills
- Deep expertise in regulatory compliance, operational resilience, or financial crime
Managing Director
- 12+ years of experience with extensive leadership in risk and compliance
- Strong commercial acumen with proven experience in growing and leading a practice
- Ability to advise senior executives and boards on complex risk and regulatory matters
- Deep industry expertise and thought leadership in risk and compliance
- Track record in revenue growth, client acquisition, and practice development
