 About The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a large global matrix environment and influence key stakeholders.  

The Global Mobility Manager will be the subject matter expert and strategic partner to HR, business leaders, and other internal stakeholders for all activities involved in the cross-border movement of employees across Asia and Australia including relocation, tax and immigration. 

You will report to the Global Mobility Director and will work as part of a global team responsible for designing and developing a competitive program to help FTI attract, retain and develop talent.  You will be a key member of the regional HR team and serve as the internal expert for global mobility in the region. 

 

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as the Asia and Australia regional specialist for all matters related to global mobility including relocation, tax and immigration; 
  • Manage cross-border movement of employees including permanent and fixed-term transfers, secondments, remote work and extended business travel into the region;  
  • Consult with and provide strategic advice/support to the business on complex cross-border business needs, ensuring adequate level of compliance and risk management;
  • Provide advice and partner with other internal teams to ensure compliance and best practice for expatriate payroll, compensation, and benefits including shadow payroll in Asia and Australia; 
  • Manage FTI’s immigration program for all countries within the region, with a focus on Australia, Singapore, India mainland China, Hong Kong, Korea and Japan. Responsible for end-to-end process, including coordination of work authorization and visas, expiration tracking and renewal management, periodic review of right-to-work compliance, and strategic long-term immigration planning;
  • Oversee compliance reviews that identify areas of risk exposure or non-compliance related to tax, wage reporting and immigration;
  • Manage relationship with service providers for immigration, relocation, and tax, to ensure outstanding customer service, policy compliance, and data integrity;
  • Partner with colleagues in global mobility and HR to understand and document current processes and find ways to automate/improve; 
  • Use data, benchmarking and feedback to monitor program and policy effectiveness, and identify opportunities for improvement; 
  • Collaborate closely with HR Business Partners, Operations, Talent Acquisition, Legal, Payroll, and Finance and develop a partnership with business leaders across the region.

What you will need to Succeed

  • Degree educated or equivalent;
  • 5+ years progressive experience in global mobility including program and policy management;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of global mobility services, best practice, and compliance in Australia and Asia;
  • Demonstrated understanding of expatriate tax concepts including tax equalization, permanent establishment, and shadow payrolls;
  • Demonstrated experience managing and supporting immigration programs across multiple countries in the region, particularly Australia and Singapore;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proven ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the business and explain complex concepts in a clear and understandable manner, including with executive level leadership;
  • Detail oriented with the ability to think quickly and practically, and to be able to multi-task, prioritize assignments, and deliver high quality client service; 
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve complex issues in commercial and compliant, but also creative, business-friendly, and cost-effective ways with an appropriate sense of urgency; 
  • Challenges processes, looking for enhancements, efficiencies and improvements;
  • Experience working in HR Information Systems, Peoplesoft or Workday preferred. 
  • Candidate with less experience could be considered as Senior Advisor
