ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:
The Senior Instructional Designer, Learning and Development (L&D) is part of FTI’s dynamic Global Human Resources practice. This position will report to FTI’s Sr. Director, Learning Solutions, Learning and Development and will be responsible for assisting with the strategy and implementation of FTI’s professional digital, e-learning development framework and curriculum for all levels, functional areas and geographies to build the requisite skills for professionals to deliver business results today and in the future.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
The Senior Instructional Designer will report to the Sr. Director Global Learning Solutions, Global Learning and Development (L&D) and will lead instructional design programs to the successful achievement of FTI strategic priorities. The global curriculum comprises classroom, virtual, e-Learning, assessments and development.
This position will also liaise with the Learning Operations Team which is responsible for program delivery and is responsible for developing and maintaining key relationships with HR Directors in other Global L&D Functions to create learning paths, develop plans to build the capabilities and deliver the FTI Curriculum.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide input into the global learning strategy and oversee and participate in its effective delivery through the following:
Global Learning & Development Brand:
• Contribute to Global e-learning solutions strategy.
• Design and develop L&D look and brand images and templates for all global design products.
• Deliver on KPIs for each phase of the L&D cycle (needs assessment, design, development, delivery, evaluation). Also:
• Report on strategic and transactional matters at the appropriate level of detail
• Satisfaction of supporting relationship with Global L&D team, HR and segment leaders
Digital and E-Learning Development:
• Design, Develop, Implement and Evaluate customized digital and e-learning solutions for segments and sub-segments,
• Work directly with Global L&D’s Instructional Systems Designer, the SD of Global L&D Solutions, and the Regional L&D Leaders, Subject Matter Experts and within FTI’s systems and tools.
• Independently design programs and content as requested.
• Use the full ISD approach on these projects.
• Work with SMEs and internal clients to synthesize content, develop scripts, and produce digital and live learning experiences that support knowledge acquisition and application. This includes, but is not limited to, video animations, interactive interfaces, simulations, screencasts, infographics, and other digital or non-digital training resources.
• Develop performance-based learning objectives and ensure training products are designed and to achieve those objectives through effective design practices, testing, and other UX best practices.
• Provide expert project management and document milestone delivery to Global L&D leaders. Maintain files in shared team site and update on a regular basis
• Consult on in-person training programs and transform those programs into on-line solutions with the required editing, redesign, and customization to maintain and enhance.
• Create products that compliment the suite of training solutions which include in-person training, webinars, videos, on-demand content, and micro-learning.
• Partnering with the creative team to create new assets for courses
• Lead the eLearning content review process for subject matter experts and instructional designers
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in Instructional Design, Multi-Media Design, Instructional Technology
• Three years of experience with elearning content authoring tools (such as Adobe Captivate, Articulate Storyline, etc.), and graphic tools (Photoshop, Illustrator)
• Knowledge of different elearning formats and ability to recommend the best approach based on the uniqueness of each situation (.MP4, SCORM or xAPI)
• Microsoft Office Suite, including MOSS (Microsoft Office SharePoint Services) design.
• Experience with information management, knowledge practices and information governance implementation.
• Knowledge of and compliance with intellectual property right guidelines for all deliveries,
• Formal development and demonstrated expertise in Instructional Systems Design,
• Expert E-learning development experience with a minimum of 3 years developing e-learning solutions using multiple software platforms; developing and editing animated e-learning solutions; creating and editing video,
• Development of blended learning solutions including micro-learning offerings,
• A passion for creating high quality learning experiences,
• Social media savvy,
• Expert in project management methods and tools,
• Advanced research skills,
• Expert PowerPoint skills,
• Advanced Excel skills,
• Ability to understand different businesses and business models easily and quickly,
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced team environment while seeking input from others,
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

• Global experience

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• 2 years working in professional services environment,
• 2 or more years of experience in learning & development curriculum development and training solutions and in-person and virtual training
• Ability to interact and communicate effectively with senior management and leadership Ability to collaborate with and influence people at all levels
• Excellent time management and organization skills.
• Skills in desktop publishing software (MS Publisher, InDesign, etc.), HTML editing tools (Adobe Dreamweaver, etc.).
• Skills using screencasts (Screenflow or Camtasia)
• LMS experience
