This is an opportunity to join the Perth office of FTI Consulting as a Senior Consultant in our Strategic Communications segment, working in the capital markets investor relations team. You will take an active role in delivering high-quality outcomes for multiple client accounts across numerous sectors, and is ideally suited for someone early in their career looking to take the next step.

In Australia, our teams in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth have worked on complex and high-profile communications assignments for clients from sectors including energy and natural resources, financial services, infrastructure, property, media, telecommunications and retail.
About the Role
The role will suit a candidate ideally with 3 to 5 years experience in either business /capital markets or media, and who understands ASX businesses. It is a varied role assisting with investor and other stakeholder communications, where strong writing skills in addition to financial acumen will also be important.
A background in investor relations, equities research, M&A or ECM with good writing skills, or a background in journalism would be highly desirable but not essential. You should have an understanding of Company financial results, balance sheets, and common sources of financing.
Reflecting the broad nature of communications, a strong knowledge, interest or ability in developing and managing social and digital media campaigns will be an advantage.
This is also an opportunity to extend beyond direct investor relations and capital markets work with the ability to work with our team of experts on Corporate & Public Affairs matters such as media and government relations, crisis management and litigation support.
What You'll Do
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Completing assigned tasks with a focus on investor relations and media relations for various ASX-listed clients, including drafting communications materials such as ASX announcements, media releases, company presentations, shareholder correspondence, and social media /digital materials
• Supporting strategy and message development for clients on their engagement and implementation with various stakeholders
• Delivering high-quality work within project teams under minimal supervision
• Assisting senior team members in developing new business initiatives (e.g. conducting research on prospects, reviewing PowerPoint presentations and proposals, etc.)
• Actively contribute to both internal and client meetings
• Staying abreast of client issues and related industry trends, participate in industry networking events and inform team leaders of potential new business opportunities
• Understands FTI’s values, Code of Ethics, and the Strategic Communications Rules of Practice and demonstrates a strong commitment to applying these concepts in daily interactions with colleagues and clients. Qualifications & Experience
We want to hear from candidates who are motivated to learn and are not afraid to ask questions. We're looking for creative problem solvers with:
• At least 3 years of work experience in a corporate, media or agency environment, with financial literacy and basic understanding of ASX and investment markets advantageous
• Strong academic performance, with a bachelor's degree in business/commerce, law, communications, journalism or a related field
• Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Experience in social media is a plus
• Strong time and priority management skills and an ability to juggle multiple client accounts
• An ability to convey information effectively and accurately, verbally or in writing across multiple disciplines
• Attention to detail and an analytical approach, with an uncompromising attitude to quality
• A strong work ethic and an ability to be a self-starter who can think ahead and anticipate client needs
• Collaborative team player with the ability to also work independently, take initiative and set priorities
• This role will require travel to client and FTI offices
