Senior Consultant, Tax Transactions | Corporate Finance & Restructuring
About The Role
FTI Consulting is seeking a Senior Consultant to join our growing Transactions Tax team. Our Transactions Tax team is aligned with FTI Consulting’s Corporate Finance & Restructuring organization. We focus on our clients’ strategic, operational, financial and capital needs by addressing the full spectrum of financial and transactional opportunities faced by corporations, boards, private equity sponsors, creditor constituencies and other stakeholders.
With teams based in North America, the United Kingdom and Dubai, our Transactions Tax team is situated to advise domestic and multinational businesses on a variety of tax matters ranging from tax transaction support to best practice process implementation and structuring. FTI Consulting provide client-centric tax advisory services focused on mitigating tax risk and minimizing cost.
You will also work with and learn from our senior management team who are leaders in their field and qualified in accounting, tax, law and real estate surveying. Our team also includes valuations and technology experts and economists.
What You’ll Do
As a Senior Consultant on the Transactions Tax team within our Transactions Services practice, you will work closely with the team to deliver excellent client service. This Senior Consultant will collaborate with internal project teams to:
Review federal and state income returns (and related tax workpapers), financial information, and related deal documents as part of buy-side and sell-side tax due diligence engagements
Assess and analyze tax exposures, risks, and opportunities relating to mergers and acquisitions
Draft written reports/correspondence summarizing the results of tax due diligence, including recommendations for next steps
Analyze various technical tax issues relating to mergers and acquisitions
Advise clients by identifying post-closing opportunities and services
Assist in advising clients with developing both tax-efficient acquisition structuring and associated tax modeling, as well as deal execution and integration planning
Participate in discussions with clients and targets

What You Will Need To Succeed
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Informational Systems, Economics, or related field of study
3+ years of post-graduate combined professional experience
Ability to travel to clients and FTI office(s)
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; the employer will not sponsor applicants for work visas
Preferred Qualifications:
MS, JD and/or CPA
3+ years of experience in federal and state tax experience
Experience with tax compliance; income and/or non-income
Experience with tax research and the ability to analyze and apply rules in a broad range of tax areas and issues
Proficiency in MS Office suite including MS Excel and PowerPoint
