About FTI Cybersecurity EMEA

  • We help clients solve complex cyber security challenges. Our clients include some of the world’s biggest brands, who we advise about some of their most sensitive cyber challenges. Discretion and confidentiality are central to how FTI operates.

About The Role

  • You will manage wide-ranging complex cybersecurity engagements in dynamic, fast-paced, and time-sensitive environments.
  • You will perform specific cybersecurity consultancy work to assist high-profile clients understand the cybersecurity risks and opportunities they face and be able to provide objective advice to remediate issues.
  • You will be able analyze data and solve problems in order to provide actionable answers and be able to support your decision-making processes with evidence and a level of insight, experience and confidence.
  • You will lead multi-functional teams to help clients manage and improve their cybersecurity maturity considering the operational, reputational and regulatory demands upon the client.
  • You will maintain or develop current knowledge of industry trends, threats, methodologies and core technologies in order to assimilate client needs and help decide appropriate courses of action.
  • You will be able to participate in assessments of threats, risks and vulnerabilities, applying a combination of technical skills and critical thinking.
  • You will work typically under legal privilege. You will support – or may have experience in providing – expert witness.
  • You will deploy innovative techniques as part of your assessments and response to client requirements. You will bring new approaches to client issues.
  • You will help improve how we work, by identifying areas for improvement and making suggestions to expand our portfolio of services or improve our efficiency and effectiveness of delivery.
  • You will have an established network of industry contacts and be building your portfolio of resources. You will help shape and refine methodologies and approaches, in line with your experience and client needs.
  • You will be agile and adaptive to the client requirements, including geographies, timelines and external demands on the client.
  • You will help mentor and shape the talent we attract to FTI. You will support junior team members and contribute to our continual development program with suggestions and specific initiatives.
  • You will research specific issues or topics and create initiatives for other team members to perform similar as aligned to overall practice leader’s direction. You will produce tangible outputs from these initiatives and be ready to present to clients, colleagues or external parties (technical or otherwise).

What You Will Need to Succeed

 

  • Experience: as a Senior Director, you will already have appropriate work and team management experience. You will be recognizable as proven “talent”. You are likely to have at least 9 years’ experience in consulting, academia or in-house (including government or military). You will have an established understanding of cybersecurity; have a good breadth of practical experience and you are likely to have developed specific areas of depth and expertise which you will be looking to nurture. You will have a proven track record of strong delivery and will already be recognized by peers and clients as someone who delivers quality impact. You will have managed large teams, often in complex environments. You will have demonstrable experience in working across varied projects, often under tight timelines, and maintaining the highest quality, effectiveness and efficiency. You may have one (or more) of the following:
  1. Experience in leading subordinate workstreams, which might be associated with but not limited to the production of cyber maturity assessments for complex organizations; production of security target operating models; third party assurance assessments; cyber risk consulting or have experience as lead incident first responder, helping to understand initial situation, triage and initiate subordinate workstreams.
  2. You will have project leadership experience and proven ability to communicate technical issues to a non-technical audience effectively.
  3. You will have appropriate industry certifications (e.g. Certified Information Security Manager [CISM], Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control [CRISC], and Certified Information Privacy Professional [CIPPE], Certified Information Systems Security Professional [CISSP]), or for an Incident Response specialism: (OSCP/E, CREST, GIAC, TOGAF, MITRE, FAIR) and professional development programs (CIISec, BCS, IEEE etc).
  4. You will also have applied knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and regulations including, but not limited to: NIST; CIS; COBIT; ISO; and GDPR.
  5. Experience of delivering international cross-border engagements.
  6. Experience in leading teams in complex cybersecurity engagements across a multinational domain.
  7. Experience in senior stakeholder engagements and reporting to FTI leadership engagements risks or opportunities.
  8. Demonstrable ability to produce written reports and oral briefings to meet the highest of standards. Enhance the quality of insight and deliverables of the team to upskill to meet the highest quality standards.
  9. You will seek and develop opportunities for cross-segment selling into FTI in order to service the client requirements.

  • Aptitude: you will have a natural curiosity and desire to learn. You will show passion for specific areas related to cybersecurity and wider technology and be able demonstrate wider thinking and well-informed appreciation. You may have published articles, have your own development project or simply follow specific topics within choice media. You will have demonstrated ability and be looking to further your expertise in your journey with FTI. You will recognize the importance of continual development and encourage those around you to develop. 
  • Critical thinking: you will be able to demonstrate the difference between technical and business success. You can make an informed, fact-based and objective analysis of an issue to come to a judgement. You can operate with a level of ambiguity and make logical assumptions when dealing with unknowns. You will demonstrate the ability to understand and deploy root cause analysis to your engagements. Your professional record will show your ability to think through and add value to client needs, using your experience to understand explicit and implicit needs.
  • Dynamism: you will be a self-starter who can work on varied assignments often within tight timeframes. You will be comfortable in raising concerns or questions on a task in an efficient manner, and to be able to reach out for guidance when you feel uncertain. You will enjoy being given context, boundaries and an objective, and will take professional pride in delivering. You will relish the opportunities provided to you within an agile environment. You will suggest improvements or solutions where you think things could be done better.
  • Communications: you can communicate clearly, concisely and with understanding for your audience. In writing and orally. You will feel comfortable raising questions when you are uncertain. You may have experience working internationally, and with other teams that are not immediately part of yours.
  • Collaboration: you will recognize that the greatest success is mutual. You will show self-awareness about how you best operate, and the ability to reflect on how others like to operate. You will be able to demonstrate an emotional intelligence to be able to adapt, personal resilience, and a strong team ethos within FTI’s “flat” hierarchy. 
  • Professionalism: you will be the consummate professional and the brand ambassador of FTI and the Global Cybersecurity team. You will have the utmost discretion when dealing with our clients at every stage.
