About The Role

The HR Technology and Innovation Director role is a key leadership position within our Global HR Technology organization, responsible for the successful implementation and ongoing operation of our Workday HCM ecosystem. This leader will initially focus on driving our Workday implementation to success, then transition to building and leading our HRIS Center of Excellence. The role combines strategic vision, technical expertise, and operational leadership to ensure our HR technology platform delivers maximum value to our organization.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A strong track record of managing enterprise-wide HR technology transformations and integration projects
  • Proven experience translating complex business requirements into technical solutions across HR, Finance, and IT functions
  • Experience with HR systems security, compliance, and data governance
  • Strong project and change management skills with a proven ability to deliver large-scale initiatives on time and within budget

 

What You’ll Do

  • Support the successful implementation of Workday HCM by coordinating project activities, tracking deliverables, and facilitating communication between the engagement director, implementation team, and stakeholders to ensure project milestones are met
  • Own and manage the enterprise HRIS ecosystem, including Workday HCM and integrated third-party applications, ensuring seamless integration, optimal functionality, and continued alignment with business requirements across all HR technology platforms
  • Build and manage an HRIS Center of Excellence team responsible for Workday operations, system optimization, and continuous improvement
  • Develop and execute the strategic roadmap for our Workday ecosystem, including module expansions, feature adoption, and integration strategy
  • Partner with HR leadership to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions
  • Oversee system security, compliance, and data governance for all Workday modules
  • Drive process optimization and automation initiatives across the HR technology landscape
  • Manage relationships with Workday and third-party implementation partners
  • Lead the planning and execution of Workday release management, including testing and deployment strategies
  • Establish and maintain HRIS policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Develop and manage the HRIS operating budget and resource planning
  • Create and implement change management and communication strategies for HR technology initiatives
  • Build strong partnerships with IT, Finance, and other functional areas to ensure seamless integration of HR systems
  • Provide executive-level reporting on HRIS metrics, projects, and operational performance

What You Will Need To Succeed  

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field (Information Systems, HR, Business Administration, or similar)
  • 10+ years of experience in HR Systems/HRIS roles
  • 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in HRIS systems management
  • 5+ years of people management experience
  • Deep functional knowledge of Workday HCM, including system architecture, configuration, business process framework, and integration capabilities
  • Experience managing full-cycle Workday implementations and leading post-production support operations
  • Demonstrated success in building and leading HRIS Centers of Excellence

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Workday HCM certification(s)
  • Experience working in a global professional services or consulting environment
  • Prior experience managing relationships with Workday and third-party implementation partners
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing strategic HRIS roadmaps
  • Experience managing HR technology budgets and resource planning
  • Strong background in HR process optimization and automation
  • Experience with HR analytics and executive-level reporting
  • Knowledge of additional HR technologies and integration platforms
  • Advanced proficiency in data analysis and presentation tools
  • Master's degree in related field
  • Experience working in a matrix organization with multiple stakeholders
  • Strong executive presence and ability to influence senior leadership
  • Track record of building and maintaining strong cross-functional partnerships
