About The Role
Temporary Senior Director will play an important role in the development and management of communications programs. The Temporary Senior Director will oversee the development and execution of multi-stakeholder communications activities, which require knowledge of trade and other regulatory matters across industry sectors.
The Temporary Senior Director is a primary client counselor and will be a valuable member of a growing global practice, supporting projects across a variety of industry sectors. A successful Temporary Senior Director will work in collaboration with colleagues and clients to provide tailored solutions that successfully engage employees and communicate change within organizations. She or he is confident in an entrepreneurial environment, with the ability to establish and maintain strong client relationships, deliver high quality work, and contribute to internal practice development initiatives as well as new business activities. Periodic travel is required.
What You’ll Do
Manage account teams and projects, leveraging in-depth knowledge of clients' objectives and challenges to oversee the design and implementation of innovative strategies to assist them through communication challenges and position them for the future. Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to, the following:
- Serve as a primary client contact, providing strategic counsel directly to clients in meetings, conference calls and while working on client sites
- Oversee project management and document development to ensure deadlines are met and objectives are achieved
- Anticipate client needs and concerns and work to proactively to address them
- Drive new business pursuits, including the development of thought leadership, identification of business prospects and ongoing networking on behalf of the firm
- Support team training and professional development and serve as a coach to early career professionals on the team
- Manage profitability and utilization on multiple projects and accounts
- Help clients identify and escalate risks in order to act and communicate with integrity
What You Will Need To Succeed
Basic Requirements
- 8+ years of communications, political/issues campaign experience
- Experience in trade related issues
- Travel required to clients and to FTI office(s)
Preferred Requirements
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail and a service-oriented attitude
- Ability to work under pressing deadlines across multiple projects and portray calm in the face of difficult situations to clients and other team members
