What You Will Need to Succeed

No specific degree is required – all we ask is for a desire to pursue a career in communications and a strong foundational skill set.


Applicants must:

  • Be in their penultimate year of study and be expected to obtain a 2:1 degree (or equivalent) at any university or degree discipline
  • Have outstanding written and verbal communications skills
  • Demonstrate an interest in the way businesses and individuals communicate and engage with their stakeholders
  • Show an interest in, and understanding of, the different forms of media
  • Be able to present ideas clearly and confidently
  • Have a positive attitude and an inquisitive mind
  • Be self-motivated with a strong work ethic
  • Be able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Demonstrate excellent attention to detail
  • Show a creative flair and an ability to think outside the box

  • Cover letter clearly outlining their suitability for the programme and describing how their skills meet the requirements for the role

Key Dates

  • Applications open: 4 September 2023
  • Closing date for applications: 9 November 2023
  • Successful candidates from the application will be asked to complete a written exercise by 24 November 2023
  • Candidates for interviews will receive invites by end of w/c 8 January 2024
  • In-person assessment centres will be held in w/c 29 January / 5 February 2024
  • Successful candidates will be contacted following the assessment centres
  • Internship starts on 1 July 2024 and runs for eight weeks
  • Candidates that successfully complete the internship programme will be considered for a place on the FTI Consulting Strategic Communications graduate scheme, commencing in September 2025.
