About The Role
Within the Corporate Finance practice, our Power, Renewables & Energy Transition team is a leading adviser to businesses, lenders, equity and infrastructure investors, law firms, and utilities in the US, UK, Europe and internationally. We have been involved in a wide range of engagements drawing on our finance, accounting, economic, and industry expertise. We provide critical insight and advisory support in the context of strategic decision-making, financial and operational restructuring, due diligence, transaction advisory, merger integration, business carve-outs and performance improvement. The sectors we work in include solar, wind, energy storage, autonomous vehicles, utilities, thermal generation, and water, amongst others. Primary duties include:
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative industry research and analysis on behalf of external clients and internal constituents
- Build financial models, valuation, and cash flow projections
- Prepare written reports and PowerPoint presentations, including quantitative and qualitative components, for both internal and external clients, summarizing a project’s scope, findings, and recommendations
- Apply corporate finance knowledge and skillset to a variety of client engagements
- Assist in new business development, preparing client presentations and attending client meetings
- Effectively interact with colleagues, clients, and other engagement professionals
- Oversee project administration including managing staff, project budgets and billing
- Supervise, mentor and train junior staff in key areas of client services
- Lead workstreams and activities for client engagements as well as internal business development
What You’ll Do
As an MBA Intern, you will become a member of a project team and work closely with our professionals and senior leaders to meet our clients’ needs. MBA Interns may be centrally involved in the preparation and management of financial analysis and models as well as formal written reports and presentations. They are expected to be able to take responsibility for research and other gathering of information, managing and carrying out quantitative, industry and market analysis and report their findings in a clear, concise, and structured way. Ideal candidates will be problem-solvers who enjoy developing approaches to solve complex, unstructured problems in a logical manner.

What You Will Need To Succeed
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a business-related field (i.e., finance, accounting, economics)
- Currently in first year of a Master of Business Administration or relevant master's degree program
- 3+ years of relevant post-undergraduate professional experience
- Ability to travel to clients and to FTI offices as needed
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; the employer will not sponsor applicants for work visas
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Meaningful experience in financial statement analysis and financial modelling
- Effective in written and verbal communication, including experience writing formal reports and presentations
- Ability to work independently in fast-paced, multi-task environment
