About The Role 

In Economic & Financial Consulting, we provide expert advice on economics, finance, valuation and accountancy, both in complex commercial disputes and transactional contexts. 

Our practice is structured around two key services areas: 

 

1. Disputes advisory, Litigation & Arbitration: our dispute advisory team provides comprehensive dispute resolution support, including pre-claim assessment, document identification and disclosure requests, damages valuation, damage mitigation assessment, written and oral expert testimony. We also provide hearing and post-hearing assistance thorough case management. With year of experience and deep expertise, our experts collectively cover most of the world’s major industries. We have provided testimony before courts and tribunals worldwide, including: AAA, CRCICA, DIAC, DIS, HKIAC, ICC, ICDR-AAA, ICSID, LCIA, SCC, SIAC and UNCITRAL. 

 

2. Valuation and Financial advisory: our valuation and financial team provides robust, independent valuations opinions, intellectual property and intangible asset valuation. We also provide financial reporting, transaction support (buy-side and vendor Due Diligence) and sales and purchase agreement (SPA) review.  

 

Our clients include international law firms, FTSE 100 companies, multinational corporations, governments and regulators. We work on varied and challenging assignments across a wide range of industries, including financial services, energy and renewables, healthcare, and telecoms. 

Examples of questions our clients have asked us: 

  • In the event of a failure to pay the earn-out in a transtion context, can the seller claim any damages or compensation? 

  • What types of damages can be claimed when a competitor is found to have infringed or copied your patent? 

  • What damages can be claimed against a state in the event of expropriation of a concession to operate a dam?

  • How much is the brand name of a Premier League football club worth?

What You’ll Do 

Our interns play a key role in our project teams by performing industry research and developing the knowledge and experience to perform detailed economic analysis and financial modelling to solve the most complex questions. They benefit significantly from working closely with managers and other team members in small teams, as well as from direct exposure to some of the top experts in the industry. 

After comprehensive training, your day-to-day tasks will include: 

  • Preparing and reviewing financial models, using Excel and financial databases such as Bloomberg and Capital IQ. 

  • Researching companies, markets or geographies to understand what industry features are relevant to the project. 

  • Conduct financial reviews of various companies, including analysis of company margins, EBITDA normalization, working capital assessment, and cash flow evaluation. 

  • Prepare supporting materials for litigation, valuation, and financial due diligence (FDD) reports.. 

  • Summarising your work in emails or memos, clearly presenting your results and drawing relevant conclusions. 

  • Taking responsibility for the quality of the final product.

We are currently recruiting for the internship position in our Madrid office, starting in early September 2025 for a duration of six months. While the role will be primarily based in Madrid, candidates can expect the opportunity to work on international projects and be part of a dynamic, global environment.

What You’ll Need to Succeed  

Basic Qualifications 

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a full-time bachelor’s degree, with a graduation date between December 2022 and August 2025  

Available to start a 6-month internship in September 2025 

Able to commit to 40 hours per week for the duration of the internship 

Proficiency in Spanish and English (spoken and written) 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Currently pursuing or have completed a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Finance, Economics, or Engineering with a focus or coursework in Finance. 

  • Numerate, logical and inquisitive team players, who can think independently and creatively. 

  • Ability to demonstrate your problem-solving skills 

  • Passionate about professional development and the development of those around them.
