About the Opportunity

 


The Marketing Communications Manager will provide essential marketing and writing support to FTI’s Corporate Finance & Restructuring (CF&R) segment, which includes the Restructuring, Business Transformation & Transactions and numerous industry practices.  We are looking for an exceptional writer and marketer who can articulate the value proposition and key messages for this market-leading business. Key responsibilities will include creating copy for internal communications, marketing collateral and thought leadership to be used on various channels (e.g., social media, web, email), editing copy, driving work product through the various stages of review and approval, raising brand awareness and event planning among other duties. In addition to significant writing acumen, candidates must also have experience coordinating and managing the movement of written products through a production organization with tight deadlines.

 


The person in this role will gain a 360-degree understanding of the CF&R business. This is an opportunity for a talented marketing communications manager to grow and develop professionally while working with incredibly smart, creative people in a collegial, collaborative work environment.

 


Overall Responsibilities

 

•The Marketing Communications Manager will support the practice’s strategic marketing and visibility efforts through the development of content for all platforms, publications and communications needs.  This person will write a wide range of engaging, original content including internal communications, marketing collateral for brochures, web copy, ad copy, landing pages, case studies, email campaigns, blog and social media posts, and more.

 

•This role will help ensure that the segment continues its strong standing in established markets and industry practice areas and gains increased recognition and visibility in growth areas such as business transformation.

 

•The segment will rely on the Marketing Communications Manager to draft compelling, thoughtful copy for internal communications, collateral materials, service sheets, case studies, directory and award submissions, events, press materials and the firm’s digital marketing needs, including web and social media.

 

•This position will report to the Chief Marketing Officer of the Corporate Finance & Restructuring segment.

 


Primary Duties

 


Content Development

 

•Draft and edit a wide variety of content to meet the practice’s strategic business needs, including but not limited to: internal communications, collateral materials such as brochures, pitches and presentations, firm publications for quarterly reporting functions, website and intranet copy, rankings and awards submissions, press releases and related materials including editing of professional bios and practice descriptions, social media, thought leadership (articles and surveys) and video scripts.

 

•Shepherd copy through editing and approval processes to meet deadlines.

 

•Work with our internal creative production team and provide creative direction to appropriately integrate copy into design layouts, collateral materials and other creative work product.

 

•Manage, track and understand qualifications content for CF&R, including tombstones, citations and success stories to be responsive for business development activities.

 

•Communicate the status of projects in a timely fashion with team members and internal clients.

 


Marketing/Communications

 

•Work with subject matter experts to capture their knowledge in a captivating way for specific target audiences.

 

•Ensure all content is consistent with our brand voice, style and tone.

 

•Serve as the practice’s content writing guru advising on the best ways to share the CF&R story in every possible way and keep teams up-to-date on content marketing trends.

 

•Coordinate the review and continuous improvement of marketing materials for the practice.

 

•Work to develop new strategies to help content channels grow.

 


Brand Awareness & Event Management

 

•Provide proactive recommendations to enhance the visibility of the client service professionals in public relations and media opportunities, including conferences, sponsorships, memberships, advertisements, and community relations endeavors.

 

•Plan and manage events, seminars and special meetings (e.g., event space/meeting rooms, equipment, event budgets) among other activities.

 

•Coordinate and prepare event materials (e.g., name badges, marketing packets, etc.) name, provide content for digital properties (e.g., invitations, website, event apps, etc.), track RSVP responses, track follow-up and report on event ROI.

 

•Assist with the development of social media posts to promote events and raise awareness of service offering and/or industry practice.

 


Website Content

 

•Review and manage the CF&R and CF&R related industry website content on fticonsulting.com, including submitting collateral requests and content changes for all practice areas and industries within the segment, updating the events and thought leadership and relevant industries.

 

•Manage and ensure all CF&R bios are uploaded and up-to-date on corporate website, intranet and other digital locations deemed necessary by go-to-market teams.

 

•Manage CF&R intranet presence and ensure that content is updated and archived, as necessary.

 


Additional Miscellaneous Responsibilities

 

•Other special projects as may be assigned from time to time.

 


Basic Qualifications

 

•Bachelor’s degree

 

•5 plus years of experience working for a consulting, law firm, financial institution or other professional services firm; previous experience in copywriting in a marketing, advertising or media relations capacity preferred

 

•Legal or business journalism experience a plus

 

•Superior communication including writing, speaking and listening

 

•Excellent, concise and persuasive business writing skills (writing sample submissions required)

 

•Exceptional organizational and project management skills

 

•Strong attention to detail

 

•Creative understanding and working knowledge of graphic design is preferred

 

•Ability to multi-task and prioritize competing tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

 

•Decisiveness and excellent use of independent judgement


•Train, coach and manage marketing communications staff


• Ability to interact, communicate and collaborate with a wide variety of individuals at all levels of the organization


•Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
