ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:
 
FTI’s Telecom, Media, and Technology (TMT) Practice is a dedicated group of experienced industry professionals. We have a growing investment banking practice, extensive transaction support and business due diligence and valuation services. We provide operational consulting services focused on corporate strategy, profitability improvement and merger integration. We have been involved in almost every major communications company restructure and turnaround in the last five years. Our professionals also have vast experience providing litigation services, including expert witness testimony, dispute analysis, economic analysis, and valuations. This team of professionals specializes in strategic, financial and operational matters attendant to all sectors of the communications and media industries.
 

 
PRIMARY DUTIES:
 
• Manage and / or lead consulting projects and workstreams including the activities, quality of output, and adherence to timeline of project team members, cross-departmental FTI experts and teams, external subject matter experts, and clients.
• Apply business, economics, finance, accounting, project management and analytical skills to solving problems across a variety of client situations and practice disciplines (e.g., financial modeling, market assessments & sizing, ratio and comparable company analysis, review/analysis of financial statements and projections, assessing business plans, valuations, conducting M&A due diligence, process analysis, etc.)
• Lead and support merger integration and carve-out activities and workstreams (organizational design, synergy assessment and realization, current state assessments, develop interim and desired-state operational models, integration milestone work shop facilitation, executive readouts,  etc.)
• Prepare complex cash flow projections and worksheets to model business processes and/or actual or hypothetical transactions
• Create detailed and innovative quantitative models that solve business problems based on key performance metrics and quantify the impact of problems and solutions.
• Synthesize analyses and insights in thoughtfully drafted, clearly communicated reports in the form of PowerPoint or Word documents.
• Present to FTI colleagues and clients project status, findings, and ultimate insights in a clear, concise, insightful, thoughtful, and action-oriented manner.
• Maintain detailed records on assumptions, methodologies and sources of information employed during the performance of all analytical tasks.
• Support the practice in developing clients and building knowledge related to the Telecom, Media, and Technology industries through the tracking of industry trends and events, the drafting of industry thought leadership, and the creation of proposals.
• Prepare PowerPoint presentations and quantitative exhibits for third parties, as necessary, on the project scope, findings and/or results of activities.
• Organize information to facilitate effective data access and analysis
• Maintain professional image within the firm and project same to those outside the firm.


 BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
 
• Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or Business Administration, Engineering
• Minimum 6+ years experience in consulting or telecom industry
• Ability to travel to meet project needs – the amount of travel will vary but at times it will require significant time away from home.
 
PREFERRED SKILLS:
 
• MBA
• CPA and/or CFE
• Prior experience in merger acquisitions and business transformation
• Prior consulting experience
• Ability to interface with team members and client in demanding, deadline-driven situations
• Strong executive presence and presentation skills
• Proficiency with PC environment and related software, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to work independently in fast-paced, multi-task environment; demonstrate willingness to research, analyze and develop new skills
• Maintain flexibility with respect to assigned tasks and assigned engagements due to changing deadlines, changing deliverables and changing task priorities
• Familiarity with internet based financial research resources for corporate information, SEC filings, competitive data, etc.
