Position Summary 

We are seeking expressions of interest from experienced construction claims / commercial professionals to join our Perth Construction Solutions team, as either a Senior Consultant or Associate Director. Key Responsibilities

  • Providing support to leading Quantum Experts involved in the preparation of expert reports for the purpose of adjudication and/or arbitration and litigation.
  • Assisting in the preparation and defence of construction claims for tier 1 or tier 2 contractors.
  • Quantification and costing of construction claims.
  • Researching construction contracts, analysing complex data, drafting claim narratives, and associated submissions.
  • Perth based with some interstate and/or international travel likely.

Desired Skills and Experience


Ideally, you will have:

  • 5 to 7 years’ (Senior Consultant) or 7 - 10 years’ + (Associate Director) claims / commercial / contract administration / cost engineering / quantity surveying experience.
  • A bachelor’s degree (and ideally a Chartered Quantity Surveyor or Chartered Engineer or similar discipline) with relevant professional qualifications.
  • Experience of preparing and negotiating claims in a commercial environment on construction/engineering projects.
  • Experience in the quantification and costing and/or commercial management of construction works.
  • An interest in construction law and a desire to develop that interest.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • The ability to work on multiple client matters at one time.
  • The ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • The ability to work with senior team members and clients in demanding, deadline-driven situations.
  • A strong work ethic and integrity and high level of professionalism.
  • Some site-based experience.
  • Excellent MS Word and Excel skills.
  • For this position you must be a Permanent Resident or Australian Citizen.

Candidates that don’t have the necessary experience but have a great attitude and are keen to develop their career in a construction claims environment will be considered. Preference will, however, be given to candidates that have some demonstrable experience of:
  • alternative dispute resolution; and/or
  • Working on matters in Arbitration or Litigation
