ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:
 
We provide analytical services to debtors, creditors and other stakeholders of companies experiencing unfavorable situations arising from liquidity problems, over-leverage, under-performance, right-sizing or other business transition issues. FTI has over 400 restructuring specialists including Certified Public Accountants, Certified Turnaround Professionals, Certified Insolvency and Reorganization Advisors, and Certified Fraud Examiners. With client service in mind, FTI recruits experienced talent from nationally recognized accounting and restructuring firms, corporations, industries and investment banks. FTI has managed thousands of engagements in a variety of industries representing some of the largest bankruptcy proceedings and out-of-court restructurings to date.
 
 FTI Consulting assists management and other stakeholders to:
 

• Manage the process to protect and enhance enterprise value
ʉۢ Prepare and evaluate business plans and cash flow projections
• Assess the company’s long-term viability and business strategy
• Coordinate with company management, creditors, and their professionals
• Manage and evaluate cash flow and working capital
• Identify nonessential assets to be sold and manage the sale process
• Create and develop a business rehabilitation plan to maximize profitability
• Design, negotiate and implement a financial restructuring plan
• Identify sources of new capital, particularly through refinancing
• Evaluate financial and operating results of competitors within the industry
   
 
PRIMARY DUTIES:
 
 A Senior Consultant provides financial and accounting related consulting services primarily in the Corporate Finance practice areas as requested and supervised by Directors and Managing Directors.
 
This practice provides services primarily in the following areas:
 
Corporate Restructuring
 
 a. Company-side/Equity-sponsor advisory;
 b. Creditor Advisory;
 c. Lender Advisory;
 d. Interim Management;
 e. Performance Improvement
 
• Responsible for day to day activities of project including interaction with other team members, professionals from other firms involved in the engagement and client personnel. May include supervision of client personnel.
• Apply business, accounting, finance and analytical skills to various client situations and practice disciplines (e.g., financial modeling, ratio and comparable company analysis, review/analysis of financial statements and projections, assessing business plans, claims, conducting due diligence on balance sheet and profit and loss statement items, etc.).
• Prepare complex financial projections (income statement, balance sheet, and cash-flow) and worksheets to model business processes and/or actual or hypothetical transactions
• Maintain detailed working paper records reflecting assumptions, methodologies and sources of information employed during the performance of analytical tasks.
• Work to ensure a quality product, as well as delivery of all work within established timeframes.
• Prepare draft written analyses and other reports for third parties, as necessary, on the project scope, findings and/or results of activities.
• Prepare PowerPoint presentations and quantitative exhibits for third parties, as necessary, on the project scope, findings and/or results of activities.
• Research and organize information to facilitate effective data access and analysis.
• Maintain professional image within the company and project same to those outside the company
 
 BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
 

• Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Economics, or Finance.
• 3+ years in Public Accounting, Consulting, or other Professional Services environment.
• Ability to interface with team members and client personnel in demanding, deadline-driven situations.
• Proficiency with PC environment and related software, including Microsoft Office applications.
• Proficient use and analysis of computer models and development of dynamic spreadsheet applications.
• Excellent communication (written and verbal), mathematical and organizational skills.
• Familiarity with Internet-based financial research resources for corporate information, SEC filings, competitive data, etc.
• General knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles and terminology.
• Ability to travel up to 50%.
 
 PREFERRED SKILLS:
 
• CPA, or CPA in progress or CFA.
• Effective interpersonal communications, including active listening.
• Ability to work independently in fast-paced, multi-task environment; willingness to research, analyze and develop new skills.
• Flexibility with respect to assigned tasks and engagements due to changing deadlines, changing deliverables and evolving task priorities.
• General knowledge of corporate bankruptcy process and procedure is helpful.
