FTI Platt Sparks provides petroleum engineering, geologic and geophysical solutions. The company offers services, such as oil and gas reserves and economic evaluations, gas contract analysis, gas storage design and evaluation, geologic and geophysical integrated studies, log analysis, regulatory conformance, seismicity risk analysis, reservoir simulation studies, secondary and enhanced oil recovery, SWD permitting and site evaluation, unitization, and database management, as well as litigation, expert witness, and court's expert.


It serves individual oil and gas producers; small, large, and major independent oil and gas companies; accounting and legal firms; financial institutions; government agencies; property and royalty owners; and international organizations and state courts in the United States and internationally.


Platt, Sparks & Associates Consulting Petroleum Engineers, Inc. was founded in 1980 and is based in Austin, Texas. The Company was acquired by FTI Consulting, Inc on October 31, 2014, and currently operates under the name FTI Consulting Platt Sparks, LLC.

 

Responsibilities

 

This person will be a member of a team providing geological, geophysical and petroleum engineering related services to our clients. This position will expose the successful applicant to a wide variety of work assignments, including:

  • Geologic and geophysical subsurface mapping
  • Reservoir estimations and evaluations
  • Induced seismicity studies
  • Geoscience support related to petroleum engineering projects

Skills/Qualifications

  • BS degree in Geology, Geophysics, or related field; MS degree is a plus
  • 0-5 years’ experience
  • Experience on the I.H.S. Kingdom software platform or other interpretation software
  • Coursework or experience in rock mechanics/geomechanics is a plus
  • Coursework or experience in hydrology is a plus
  • Coursework or experience in seismic data and log interpretation is a plus
  • Demonstrated verbal communication and technical presentation skills
  • Strong technical writing skills
  • Computer proficient (must have proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and excellent spreadsheet skills
  • Knowledge of GIS a plus
  • Team player and technical contributor
