Key Responsibilities
The Global Discovery Engineer provides global litigation and email support for FTI Consulting, and may also be a backup for one or more other service towers.
• Supports the infrastructure management team in the development and execution of the global discovery and litigation hold program.
• Works with the FTI legal department to assist with the identification and processing of data in response to litigation and legal hold requests.
• Administratively tracks the status of litigation holds and executes the program ensuring accurate reporting of all items
• Administrates and manages IT systems and applications, as necessary, to support the legal hold processes and workflows
• May configure and support the maintenance of underlying systems to ensure accuracy and availability
• Assists in the development, maintenance and execution of documentation, policies and procedures
• Provides formal project management of assigned projects.
• Analyzes and maintains relevant data for the accurate and periodic reporting of the program
• Leads and is responsible for the completion of tasks, change controls, and responses to escalations and alerts for other engineers.
• Responsible for the execution and maintenance of:
o Operational Recurring Tasks – Daily, weekly, monthly, yearly
o Use and compliance with FTI’s Change Management Control Process o Incident & Problem Reporting and Tracking
o Use and compliance with the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) standards when developing solutions
• Adherence to published Project Management Policies & Procedures (PMI)
• Provides leadership to ensure that system security issues are addressed effectively within the FTI enterprise environment.
• Cover and resolve any outstanding Service Desk related issues in an effort to help all IT members resolve tickets as quickly and efficiently as possible.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Daily time entry to record billable and non-billable time.
• Support other IT staff with open and unresolved issues.
• As developed and coordinated upon request by supervisor.
• Role may require out of hours work as required.
• Take on responsibilities as a backup or alternate for other IT staff.
• Physical labor from time to time, which may include moving equipment, furniture, etc.
• Periodic travel may be required, sometimes with little notice.
CRITICAL COMPETENCIES
• Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Exchange and email systems, solutions and processes
• Knowledge and understanding of archiving systems, such as Mimecast and Office365
• Knowledge of data file systems, storage and the underlying technologies and capabilities
• Knowledge of backup systems and methodologies
• Understands and applies policies and procedures.
• Is familiar with ITILv3 policies and procedures.
• Ability to effectively communicate and coordinate with senior business management and peers.
• Strong business and technical process design and documentation skills. • Possesses a high level of technical/functional expertise and knowledge.

EDUCATION
• Technology related Bachelor’s degree or equivalent job experience.
• ITILv3 Foundation certification.
• MCSE Messaging/Productivity or related certification.
EXPERIENCE
• Experience in the design and operation of a large, global enterprise environment
• Experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2008, - 2016 deployment, configuration and troubleshooting in an enterprise environment.
• Experience managing O365 ideally within a Hybrid O365 environment.
• Experience managing Exchange 2010 - 2016.
• Working Experience of SharePoint
Preferred Skills
• Working experience of Mimecast cloud email services
• Comprehensive knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, FTP, Print Services and security certificates.
• Demonstrable experience with core Microsoft technologies: MS Windows Server, MS Exchange, and MS SQL Server.
• Experience working with NAS and SAN storage infrastructures in an enterprise environment.
• Working experience of Office365 and Microsoft Azure
• Experience of participating on technical projects, adhering to PMI or Prince2 methodologies
