About the Role

The HR Analytics Data Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining a robust HR data infrastructure for HR and Business needs. This role will work closely with HR stakeholders to understand their data needs and translate them into scalable and efficient data solutions. This includes creating data models, defining data storage structures, and architecting databases to efficiently store and retrieve HR information. The Engineer will optimize data processes, refine workflows, and minimize data latency. This role directly shapes decision-making driven by HR data, strengthens reporting capabilities, and plays a key role in advancing the overall HR strategy. Collaboration with HR leaders ensures alignment with organizational vision, translating it into actionable data solutions.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Data Strategy and Architecture:
  • Collaborate with HR leaders and business stakeholders to execute the HR data strategy.
  • Develop, implement and maintain the architecture for our HR data systems, ensuring scalability, performance and reliability.
  • Ensure data consistency, accuracy, and security across HR systems.
  • Data Modeling and ETL:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain data models that accurately represent HR processes, including employee lifecycle and performance, and enable efficient data retrieval and analysis.
  • Build and manage robust ETL pipelines (Extract, Transform, Load) to extract, transform and load HR data from various sources into our central HR data repository.
  • HR Reporting and Visualization:
  • Integrate HR data from different systems and sources to provide a unified view for reporting and analytics.
  • Build interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI or custom SQL queries.
  • Provide insights to HR leaders, enabling them to make informed decisions.
  • Monitor key HR metrics and trends.
  • Data Governance and Compliance:
  • Establish and enforce data governance policies specific to HR data to ensure data quality, consistency, and security.
  • Ensure compliance with privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR).
  • Safeguard sensitive employee information.
  • Document data architecture, ETL processes, and data governance policies to ensure transparency and maintainability.
  • Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:
  • Work closely with HR business analysts, IT teams, and other departments.
  • Translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Stay informed about industry best practices, emerging technologies, and trends in HR analytics.
  • Identify opportunities for process automation and optimization.

What You Will Need to Succeed

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience as a Data Engineer or similar role, with a focus on HR data.
  • Proficiency in data modeling, ETL processes, and database management.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Power BI (report creation, DAX, Power Query, and data modeling) as well as in Microsoft Excel (Power Pivot, DAX, advanced formula usage, etc.)
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; this position does not provide visa sponsorship.
  • Ability to travel to clients and FTI office(s) as needed.

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Certifications: Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate, AWS Certified Data Analytics, or similar.
  • Cloud Experience: Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP).
  • HR Domain Knowledge: Understanding of HR processes, policies, and compliance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
