Practice Summary  

 

The Corporate Finance and Restructuring segment of FTI Consulting provides complete support in turnaround and restructuring, transaction advisory services and corporate recovery. The practice has a reputation for taking on challenging and complex assignments that require exceptional strategic and technical capabilities.

 

Our team has over 30 years of global experience working on some of the most high profile restructurings and insolvency cases. Our clients include nearly all of the major global financial institutions, private equity houses, city law firms and many corporates.

About the Role

Our market leading Restructuring & Insolvency team in Hong Kong is seeking a dynamic Director with 7+ years of professional experience in formal and informal restructuring, insolvency and corporate recovery. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in driving the growth and success of our practice, working with a diverse range of clients to deliver on the execution of the various engagements. 

Directors in the Restructuring segment are responsible for planning, supervising, performing and finalising engagements with responsibility for day to day activities of the team and subordinates. They are also expected to manage all the day-to-day activities of projects and matters from start to finish with minimal or no supervision. For Directors, building and maintaining strong relationships with clients is critical. They must demonstrate the ability to fully lead and manage client matters with minimal input or edits from senior team members and effectively manage and meet the client’s expectations at all times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in strategic planning of engagements and potential engagements.
  • Provide coaching and development to project teams.
  • Utilise advanced accounting knowledge and logical reasoning skills to provide complete client services.
  • Project management including drafting letter of engagements, billing and coordination with client contacts.
  • Prepare draft reports, presentations and other deliverables for third parties, setting out findings and/or results of the agreed scope of work.
  • Interact directly with clients including lawyers and senior personnel.
  • Track progress of cases and monitor workflow of different matters.
  • Coordinate and review the work of others and ensure the timely completion of engagements.
  • Contribute to management of the Corporate Finance and Restructuring practice through active involvement in practice development activities and develop professional network.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Hong Kong or internationally recognised professional accounting or finance qualification.
  • 7+ years of solid professional experience in restructuring and insolvency.
  • Regional experience in formal appointments and restructuring including as financial advisor, liquidations and recieverships.
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Mandarin/ Cantonese.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle and analyse complex financial information.
  • Excellent knowledge of the legal insolvency process, including relevant laws and practices.
  • Experience in managing teams and projects.
  • Strong work ethic and integrity and high level of professionalism.
  • Willingness to travel when requested.
