About The Role
Data Scientists on FTI’s AI Build Team should have a pragmatic approach to problem-solving and be capable of developing end-to-end solutions that clients can rely on in production. They should be capable of challenging their own work and finding a balance between perfection and practicality.
As a Director on FTI’s AI Build Team, you will provide guidance, leadership, and mentorship to junior members of the team, while simultaneously contributing to workstreams on larger projects. You will showcase your expertise across a number of technical areas including programming, AI/ML and best practices.
What You’ll Do
Data Management
Develop and oversee comprehensive ETL processes
Ideate and maintain functional relational databases
Structure and perform quality control procedures for data ingestion, querying, and usages
Data Analysis
Perform exploratory data analysis and render key insights through evidenced results
Execute data quality assessments
Illustrate material understandings through coherent data visualizations
Manage concurrent investigations into required datasets
Execute and tune statistical analyses
Modeling
Conduct necessary research for proof-of-concept model selection
Identify viable model features and apply appropriate normalizations
Appropriately log model parameters and metrics for comparison
Diligently optimize current processes and pipelines
Perform quality control and debugging assistance for junior data scientists
Actively work on ModelOps design and implementation
Bring completed models to production
Communication
Frequently partner with internal and external stakeholders
Lead meetings with internal and external non-technical stakeholders to deliver insights
Outline objectives and track progress of junior data scientists

What You Will Need to Succeed
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Math, Physics, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field of study
3+ years of post-graduate professional experience or Master’s degree in Math Physics, ComputScience, Statistics, or related field of study with 2+ years of post-graduate professional experience
Ability to travel to clients and FTI office(s)
Technical Platform Requirements
Experience in the following computing language: Python
Experience in any of the following query languages: T/SQL, PL/SQL, and PL/pgSQL
Experience in the following version control language: Git
Experience in any of the following database platforms: Postgres, Databricks, Apache Spark, MSSQL, and Oracle
Experience in any of the following AI/ML frameworks: Huggingface, Torch, Tensforflow, Scikit-Learn, and Spacy
Experience in any of the following additional platforms related to MLOps: MLFlow and Docker
Experience in any of the following on-demand cloud computer platforms: AWS, GCP, and Azure
Technical Concept Requirements
Experience in any of the following AI/ML topics: Natural Language Processing (NLP), Forecasting, Clustering, Recommendation Engines, Network Analysis (Graph Theory), and Regressions
Experience in any of the following AI/ML concepts: Cross Validation, Ensemble Methods, Over/Under Fitting, Accuracy/Precision/Recall
Experience in any of the following computer science concepts: Object Oriented Programming, Hashing, Space Complexity, and Parallel Processing (Multiprocessing)
Non-Technical Requirements
Experience in managing and ideating a proof-of-concept while leading the proceeding phases; Development, Testing, Deployment, and Maintenance
Experience in mentoring junior resources
