About the Role

In FTI Consulting’s Corporate Finance & Restructuring segment we focus on our clients’ strategic, operational, financial and capital needs by addressing the full spectrum of financial and transactional challenges faced by corporations, boards, private equity sponsors, creditor constituencies and other stakeholders.

We are currently seeking a Director, Executive Compensation for our Global Human Capital team. This team helps our clients drive value in various business contexts, including Restructurings, Mergers & Acquisitions, and Business Transformations.

The FTI Global Human Capital team is a rapidly growing practice that brings together deep technical expertise in compensation & benefits, organizational design, workforce management, and labor negotiations to help our clients make informed decisions, focusing on organizational and people-related challenges that materially impact enterprise valuation and business stability.

What You’ll Do

In FTI Consulting’s Global Human Capital segment we work closely with clients and internal teams on compensation-related matters spanning the full lifecycle of restructuring, M&A, and business transformation.

This role will provide technical expertise and analysis at an advanced level; applying a strategic mindset, cross-functional expertise, and deep compensation knowledge in the following areas:

  • Design and implement executive compensation programs, including one-time retention and incentive plans (e.g., KEIPs and KERPs), management incentive plans (MIPs), and long-term incentive plans, often in restructuring or transaction-driven environments

  • Lead market benchmarking and compensation structuring analyses for senior leadership teams, boards, and other external stakeholders

  • Prepare and deliver materials to clients, including financial models, compensation plan summaries, and board-ready presentation materials with a high degree of accuracy and limited oversight

  • Act as the primary lead for day-to-day execution on client engagements, working closely with legal counsel, financial advisors, and internal client teams to drive workstreams forward

  • Ensure plan designs are aligned with client objectives while incorporating complex regulatory, tax, and governance considerations

  • Participate on broader human capital transformation efforts as needed including organizational design, workforce strategy, and total rewards optimization

  • Interpret large amounts of data to inform insights and recommendations

In addition, you’ll play a key role in the growth of the practice in the following areas:

  • Serve as the day-to-day project delivery leader, building long-term, trusting relationships with clients

  • Contribute to new business development efforts by preparing pitch materials, case studies, and thought leadership content

  • Build new practice tools, go-to-market materials and capabilities or service lines as the needs and demands of the market evolve

  • Mentor and develop junior staff by providing guidance on compensation concepts, modeling, and client delivery

  • Support senior team members by leading the development of client deliverables, internal initiatives, and quality control

How You’ll Grow

This is an excellent opportunity for a person with proven, hands-on executive compensation experience who wants to provide analytical services to debtors, creditors and other stakeholders of companies, while contributing to the growth of the FTI Consulting Global Human Capital segment.

You will partner with our diverse clients and internal teams in various industries to continue to learn and grow in new and complex areas and technologies. In addition to compensation-focused engagements, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to large-scale restructurings, total rewards strategy, and other Human Capital initiatives as they arise to gain a variety of skills towards becoming a more well-rounded practitioner.

As you progress through your career at FTI Consulting, we offer tailored programs for critical professional milestones to ensure you are prepared and empowered to take on your next role.
