About The Role
FTI Consulting Brussels is looking for an experienced professional to add to our Public Affairs Healthcare and Life Science team. If you are looking to work in a dynamic and thriving sector team that crosses multiple issues facing the healthcare sector, then this is the position for you. FTI Consulting advises healthcare and life sciences clients globally in Public Affairs, Government Affairs, Corporate and Financial Communications, Investor Relations as well as Corporate Finance, Health Economics, Technology and Business Advisory.
The candidate should have experience in Public Affairs and Communications with a particular focus in the healthcare sector and ideally a work experience in business advisory firms and the European institutions. In this role, you will be part of a fast-growing team of 15+ health experts who advise a broad range of clients at an EU, regional and global scale. Our clients include leading pharmaceutical companies, fast-growing biotech, medical devices companies and digital health start-ups as well as leading EU and international healthcare trade associations, NGOs, and patient organisations on a wide range of public policy and communications challenges.
As a Director in the Brussels healthcare practice, you will work on different client accounts, lead some of these, guide junior colleagues and contribute to building new business opportunities.
What You’ll Do
- Deliver to clients: provide strategic advice to a portfolio of clients, manage accounts on a day-to-day basis and develop excellent relationships with client groups. Own client relationships with limited senior supervision; creatively preparing and delivering the client programme.
- Build the business: seek out new business leads and work on business development activities such as pitch preparation and delivery.
- Team involvement: project line management for the team working on your clients and knowledge sharing and mentoring junior team members.
- Networking: proactively network with EU contacts and stakeholders as well as potential clients.
- Marketing: support FTI activities going to market, market your own thought leadership.
- Demonstrates a high level of integrity and asks the necessary questions to manage firm and client data responsibly.
- Understands FTI’s values, Code of Ethics and the Strategic Communications Rules of Practice and demonstrates a strong commitment to applying these concepts in daily interactions with colleagues and clients. What You Will Need to Succeed
Basic Qualifications
- Several years of experience up to mid/senior level in the healthcare sector either in consulting, in-house, in a trade body, in a public institution, or advising clients on policy and communications issues.
- Strong organisation or project management skills, with some experience of leading project teams or accounts.
- Proven skills in public affairs, advocacy, communication, and reputation management across healthcare issues.
- Excellent understanding and experience of working with policymakers and stakeholders in Brussels and in national capitals to further develop strategic objectives.
- Strong knowledge of the Healthcare & Lifesciences sector, regulation and policy discussions.
- Excellent English with one or two additional European languages preferable.
- Good writing skills and a good understanding of communications
- Travel required to clients and to FTI office(s).
Preferred Qualifications
- A self-starter with a can-do-attitude
- Ideally prior experience or background in advisory or consultancy work.
