About The Role 
 
FTI Consulting is looking for a proven Leader to join its Sydney valuations and forensics team. As a key member, you will be an integral part of this fast-growing practice.  

FTI Consulting has a dedicated team of valuation specialists providing valuations of businesses, intangible assets and many other types of financial assets for taxation, strategy, regulatory, M&A, accounting, and litigation purposes.

Each year we interview dozens of entrepreneurs and c-suite management, and along the way, develop deep expertise in many fascinating industries.

  • Debt 
  • Derivatives 
  • Brands 
  • Patents and other intellectual property 
  • Contracts 
  • Infrastructure assets 

Our valuation specialists are also active in the valuation community including holding roles with local and international accounting and valuation bodies. 

 
What You'll Do 
 

  • Execution of a wide range of valuation engagements for strategy, transactions, regulatory, tax reporting, accounting, and litigation purposes 
  • Support day-to-day engagement execution, including interaction with clients, financiers, auditors, tax advisors and legal advisers 
  • Undertake company and industry analysis 
  • Participate in interviews with senior management of our clients to understand their businesses. 
  • Perform financial, ratio and comparable company analysis 
  • Perform valuations of shares, businesses, debt, intangible assets, and quantify loss and damage in commercial disputes 
  • Compose clear and concise written reports summarising our valuation analysis 
  • Assist with new business development activities 
  • Develop financial models and reporting templates 
  • Contribute to company initiatives and team development activities  

Qualifications & Experience 
 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related disciplines  
  • 10+ years of professional experience, including experience in business and/or intangible asset valuations  
  • Strong understanding of, and interest in, valuations and corporate finance 
  • Experience in writing reports 
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills 
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles 
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle and analyse complex financial information 
  • Experience in leading small teams 
  • Ability to work on multiple client matters at one time 
  • Strong work ethic and integrity, and high level of professionalism 
  • Willingness to travel for work
