About The Role

FTI Consulting has five main business segments focused on Forensic and Litigation Consulting, Corporate Finance & Restructuring, Economic Consulting, Technology and Strategic Communications. As the Marketing Leader for the Forensic and Litigation Consulting (FLC) segment, you will play a pivotal role in developing and executing go-to-market strategies that enable our professionals within the segment to deepen current client relationships, create opportunities for new client relationships and enhance brand awareness at the segment and firm level.

This role reports directly to the FLC Segment Leader and will work closely with the FLC Leadership Team to define and execute go-to-market strategies. The Marketing Leader for FLC is responsible for creating, implementing, and managing  the overall strategic and operational marketing and client relation-facing activities for FLC.  Responsibilities include global strategy development and execution of a holistic marketing program to promote and drive awareness of FLC’s capabilities. The role will involve collaboration and coordination across several FLC practice areas and other FTI segments. The role will also be responsible to provide strategic and operational leadership for the segment’s business development efforts, including client relationship building and generation of client development ideas.  Above all, the Marketing Lead for FLC should implement measurable strategies that aid in driving the segment’s revenue goals and increasing awareness at all levels of the segment’s global reach. A successful candidate will be a strategic, creative, and highly organized leader who has a proven track record of success in the development and execution of marketing campaigns.

What You’ll Do

This role will include, but is not limited to:

Marketing

  • The Marketing Leader for FLC will oversee the development and maintenance of practice-specific and segment-specific marketing activities to include:
    • Drive the strategy and execution of thought leadership and for the practice(s) to ensure alignment to practice and segment-specific strategies.
      • Work with the practice professionals and Corporate Marketing to write, develop and promote thought leadership.
    • Coordinate and drive content generation efforts to ensure case studies, website content, bios, brochures, press releases, and external materials are regularly being produced, updated, and used effectively in external marketing efforts.
      • Maintain current templates for branding purposes (e.g., bios, engagement highlights) and oversee consistent use.
    • Develop a social media strategy and oversee implementation.
      • Execute effective, impactful content geared towards target audience.
    • Develop a comprehensive events and sponsorship plan and strategy that aligns with the segments priorities and tracks return on investment.
      • Ensure a consistent brand story through all event marketing touch points, including websites, social, digital and print advertising, affiliate marketing, and marketing partnerships with our sponsors.
      • Research sponsorships and speaking opportunities.
      • Understand where our competitors and peers are speaking, sponsoring, etc.
      • Develop and oversee a process for follow up after significant marketing/business development events.
      • Develop and oversee a process to track ROI for all sponsorships and events.
  • Develop and maintain information about awards won within the segment and marketing that information as appropriately.

 

Business Development

  • Work closely with segment Business Developers to coordinate and support efforts as well as maximize revenue generation.
  • Develop process to ensure effective collaboration amongst the segment Business Developers as well as a system to track support BD efforts.
  • Work closely with Corporate Research, Product Leaders, and senior professionals across the FLC sub-products to build a comprehensive list of targets and regularly identify BD  outreach opportunities.

 

Leadership & Coordination

  • Work with the leaders in the segment across all regions and practices, develop and execute a strategic marketing plan to showcase, profile and support our experts and drive coordinated business development efforts.
  • Coordinate the segment marketing professionals who support the segment overall and all the FLC sub-practices. This role is tasked with the creation of the marketing department’s vision and ensuring those values are adopted among all marketing team members.
  • Lead the team to exceed targets and inspire team members to push boundaries, discover new approaches, test new tools, and take calculated risks to produce high-impact results.
  • Establish the necessary tools and create the processes required to properly support the marketing of all FLC services.
  • Coordinate with FTI’s Chief Marketing Officer and the Corporate Marketing Team to ensure the segment is benefiting from Corporate Marketing initiatives and support functions.
  • Serve as FLC’s liaison with the global marketing teams and business partners to include FTI’s CRM and Corporate Communications teams.
  • Coordinate with marketing leaders in all regions to implement global initiatives.
  • Coordinate Practice Development budget allocation, and along with Marketing spend, assess ROI.
  • Develop internal communications, talking points, and other materials for the segment as needed.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, MBA preferred.
  • 15+ years of marketing experience, especially within marketing strategy, thought leadership, and event planning
  • Experience in professional services, consulting and/or the legal industry.
  • Successful record of working with senior leadership and management.
  • Experience working in a global role with international experience is preferred.
  • Ability to travel to FTI office(s) and client events.

  • Strong ability to build and maintain relationships with many different stakeholders and a keen understanding of the power of partnerships with the ability to build bridges.

  • A positive, hands-on and inclusive leader who knows how to engage, develop and manage others to achieve objectives.
  • Ability to lead teams and manage effectively through layers of leadership.
  • Ability to interact, communicate and collaborate with a wide variety of individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience coaching others on open dialogue, receiving and giving feedback, and having difficult conversations that strengthen relationships.
  • Stellar at executing strategies for innovation, creativity and continuous learning for a department or practice area.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize competing tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated analytical ability to report on content and campaign performance and recommendations.
  • Ability to establish and make a budget “work for the business”.
  • A strong pulse on the industry, challenges and opportunities.
  • A self-starter who can make decisions using independent judgement.
  • Strong executive level presence, with strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
