About The Role

We provide our clients with a comprehensive view of strategic communications that leverages our integrated suite of services, including crisis management, litigation communications, financial communications, corporate reputation, transaction communications and public affairs in all the major markets around the world.

About The Opportunity

We are currently looking for a sagacious Intern to join our Strategic Communications team at our São Paulo office. This person will primarily support client teams in the execution of various strategic communications consulting programs simultaneously, across all the different practices, including crisis communications, public & government affairs, corporate reputation, financial and transaction communications and change management. Activities will also include support with administrative activities such as updating credential decks and organizing client documents. Given the diverse nature of the work, we are looking for someone who has flexibility, go-getter mentality and is willing to learn and work with different subjects, offerings and industries. This is a very hands-on position, requiring a high level of organization and also that the Intern keeps up-to-date on key issues and events impacting clients, as well as the general news. As many of the clients are not based in Brazil, the position requires full professional fluency, speaking and writing, in English. This is a hybrid position, the Intern will be expected to work at the office at least three times a week (Monday to Wednesday).

What You'll Do

In this role, the Intern will develop knowledge of clients' objectives and challenges as well as business and political issues to help the client team design communications strategies and execute program tactics. Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to, the following: 

  • Research on topics such as market issues, public policies and legislations, client challenges and stakeholders, and competitive landscapes;
  • Follow market trends;
  • Support the preparation of daily media monitoring analytical reports for clients;
  • Support the preparation of regulatory monitoring reports for clients;

·       Support the preparation of a variety of client materials (e.g., strategic memos, press releases, presentations, position and policy papers, emails, media reports, media pitches, social media posts and internal communications content, etc.) in a timely and efficient manner, under the direction of senior team members.

·       Organize existing administrative and client materials;

·       Assist with ongoing program measurement and progress report development;

  • Research appropriate target media for clients, and develop and update media lists;
  • Manage the proper functionality of third-party media tools and media subscriptions
  • Deliver high-quality work focused on client needs;
  • Demonstrate a high level of integrity and ask the necessary questions to manage firm and client data responsibly.

 Basic Qualifications

·       Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Public Relations, International Relations, Political Science, Law, Economics or related;

  • Full professional fluency, speaking and writing, in English is required;
  • Research, writing and editing skills;

·       A strong work ethic.. A collaborative team player that also has the ability to work independently, take initiative and set priorities; and

·       Ability to work at FTI office in São Paulo. Travels outside São Paulo will not be frequent.

 Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to proactively support key client relationships;
  • Strong time and priority management skills and an ability to effectively juggle multiple client projects;
  • Desire and ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking, deadline-oriented dynamic environment with regular change;
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel and Word;
  • Spanish knowledge is a plus; and
  • Experience in social media is also a plus.
