About The Role

The Events & Sponsorship Manager for the Corporate Finance & Restructuring segment will manage all logistics for client-facing events including conferences, webinars and client entertainment, while actively contributing to and supporting strategic goals for each event. The Events/Sponsorship Manager will also coordinate firm sponsorships and special projects/internal events, e.g., segment/practice retreats as assigned, as well as other initiatives to support the segment’s visibility and growth. This role requires a strict attention to detail and deadlines.

 

As the Events Manager, you will manage all aspects of external and internal Corporate Finance & Restructuring events, from planning and development to execution and post-event follow-up, in collaboration with the events and marketing teams and client-facing professionals.

 

What You’ll Do

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Developing and executing an annual Corporate Finance & Restructuring event strategy and playbook
  • Soliciting proposals from, and conducting site visits and inspections of potential event properties, including hotels and resorts, restaurants, bar/lounges, and special event spaces
  • Overseeing and administering the event and sponsorship planning and implementation process, including event themes, project management, managing budgets, creating timelines and project plans and leading planning meetings to drive toward event goals
  • Working with in-house design staff to develop creative and compelling event themes
  • Working with in-house communications team to develop speeches/presentations, social media and PR/press plans to leverage and promote relevant events
  • Developing and managing event timelines, communicating deadlines and assignments to marketing staff and external vendors, as necessary
  • Utilizing the events system to run reports, manage lists, and track RSVPs, attendance, follow-up, etc.
  • Conducting post-event evaluations/scorecards, including client and participant satisfaction and ROI, establishing appropriate budget management and tracking in financial and expense systems
  • Working in coordination with the corporate marketing brand team to maintain inventory of event materials (signage, booths, etc.), ensuring seamless delivery pre and post event
  • Negotiating contracts for venues, caterers, and other vendors and suppliers, working closely with the procurement team to ensure compliance
  • Collaborating with events professionals in Corporate Marketing to ensure relevant events are posted to the firm's website, internal calendar, etc.
  • Developing success measures to evaluate all major events against objectives, including recommending areas for improvement
  • Utilizing data from past events to enact changes to improve future results; maintain documentation of events for future reference
  • Managing sponsorships and relationships with trade organizations, conference organizers and other third-party partners, and functioning as main point of contact between FTI Consulting’s Corporate Finance & Restructuring business and these relationships
  • Utilizing the Corporate Merchandise store and identifying bespoke merchandise options for events, as needed
  • Managing and coordinating events collateral and gifts, including the holiday gift program
  • Building and maintaining a global network of preferred vendor relationships and third-party resources
  • Continuously implementing best practices, policies and workflow procedures to ensure the efficient and effective execution of all events

What You Will Need To Succeed  

 

Basic Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, or related field
  • 7+ years of post-graduate, professional work experience in event and sponsorship management
  • Ability to travel and oversee events operations outside of primary office, as needed
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word)
  • Knowledge of Client Relationship Management (CRM) software

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Possess exceptional time management and organizational skills with a consistent record of success in planning, managing, and completing multiple events simultaneously
  • Ability to communicate effectively with C-Suite executives and partners as well as outside vendors
  • Ability to work independently and under own direction and initiative with strong motivational and leadership skills
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, both, verbally and in writing with demonstrated strong critical thinking and active listening skills
