About The Opportunity

 

The Marketing Communications (Writer) Manager will provide essential writing support to FTI’s Forensic and Litigation Consulting practice.  We are looking for an exceptional writer who can articulate the value proposition and market message of the practice. Key responsibilities will include: creating copy for marketing collateral, editing copy and driving work through the various stages of approval. In addition to significant writing acumen, candidates must also have experience coordinating and managing the movement of written products through a production organization with tight deadlines.

 

The person in this role will gain a 360-degree understanding of the forensics and litigation consulting practice’s content. Overall Responsibilities

  • The Marketing Communications (Writer) Manager will support the practice’s strategic marketing and visibility efforts through the development of content for all platforms, publications and communications needs.  This person will write a wide range of engaging, original content including marketing collateral for brochures, web copy, ad copy, landing pages, case studies, email campaigns, blog and social media posts, and more.
  • This role will help ensure that the practice continues its strong standing in core forensic and litigation consulting practice areas and gains increased recognition and visibility in growth areas such as cybersecurity.
  • The practice will rely on the Marketing Communications (Writer) Manager to draft compelling, thoughtful copy for collateral materials, service sheets, case studies, directory and award submissions, press materials and the firm’s digital marketing needs.
  • This position will report to both the Director of Marketing for the Forensic and Litigation Consulting Practice and the Head of Visual Communications (Viscom).

Primary Duties

 

Content Development

  • Draft and edit a wide variety of content to meet the practice’s strategic business needs, including but not limited to: collateral materials such as brochures, firm publications for quarterly reporting functions, website copy and practice group web properties, rankings and awards submissions, press releases and related materials including editing of consultants’ bios and practice descriptions, thought leadership (articles and surveys) and video scripts.
  • Shepherd copy through editing and approval processes to meet deadlines.
  • Work with our internal creative production team to appropriately integrate copy into design layouts, collateral materials and other creative work product.
  • Communicate the status of writing project in a timely fashion with team members and internal clients.

Marketing/Communications

  • Work with subject matter experts to capture their knowledge in a captivating way for specific target audiences.
  • Ensure all content is consistent with our brand voice, style and tone.
  • Serve as the practice’s content writing guru advising on the best ways to share the Forensic and Litigation practice’s story in every possible way and keep teams up-to-date on content marketing trends.
  • Coordinate the review and continuous improvement of marketing materials for the practice.
  • Work to develop new strategies to help content channels grow.

 

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 4+ years of experience working for a law firm, financial institution or other professional services firm; previous experience in copywriting in a marketing, advertising or media relations capacity preferred.
  • Legal or business journalism experience a plus
  • Skills
  • Superior communication including writing, speaking and listening
  • Excellent, concise and persuasive business writing skills (writing sample submissions required)
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Basic knowledge of graphic design is preferred
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize competing tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Decisiveness and excellent use of independent judgement
  • Ability to interact, communicate and collaborate with a wide variety of individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
