About the Opportunity:
The Managing Director will be a critical team member responsible for leading Business Development efforts among selected funds the PCAS Practice with a heavy focus of transaction and performance improvement services and cross-selling other FTI services.
Qualified candidates will be well connected with top tier private equity firms, be a skilled networker, and possess superior communication skills as well as a sense of urgency and drive to help the company in our quest to win client engagements.
Primary Duties:
• Grow the existing portfolio of private equity and private debt firm clients by leveraging candidate’s own and FTI’s existing contacts and generating new leads.
• Drive Business Development efforts: produce sales pitches for new business, cross-sell existing clients, develop proposals, lead account development planning and project prioritization.
• Introduce FTI’s operational improvement strategy discussions with PE Fund Operating and M&A Partners, Board Members, CEO’s and other client executives
• Ensure the benefits case and value creation strategy is fulfilled on client engagements (investments, IRR, cash flow, and ROI) Innovation – bring new product and service ideas to broaden the reach and offerings of the firm
• Work with our industry experts and functional specialists to develop private equity industry points of view and account specific value creation strategies
• Mentor junior talent
• Additional responsibilities as identified.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree a plus, but not required.
• 15+ years of relevant experience with a minimum of 5+ years of direct client relationship management experience with private equity firms.
• Relationships at large PE and debt funds a plus.
• Ability to travel 30% of the work week.
Preferred Skills:
• Ability to understand a PE client’s issues quickly and identify value proposition.
• Ability to make critical decisions independently.
• Effective communicator with executive level presentation, relationship building, and negotiation experience.
• Proven track record in performing well in fast paced environment; ability to handle multiple priorities and work aggressively to achieve growth.
• Strong partnering and influencing skills; ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders.
• Strong closing skills and sense of urgency to push business forward within aggressive time-frames in support of the overall strategy and revenue growth targets.
• Flexible and versatile. Strong ability to shift directions and work with all levels and handle all activities, issues, and problems.
