About The Opportunity:
The Trial Services managing director position is a critical role in FTI’s Trial Services practice, comprised of graphics, trial technology and jury consulting, working seamlessly to support FTI’s clients in preparation for trial, arbitration, or other litigation-related events.
This position is responsible for generating and leading engagements and insuring high quality client service delivery, as well as coaching and developing others.
Primary Duties:
• Be the primary visual communications or trial technology consulting client contact for engagements, with overall responsibility for client satisfaction with client service delivery and work product
• For visual communications candidates:
• Develop a compelling visual communications plan supporting case themes and tailored to clients’ specific needs
• For trial technology candidates:
• Provide courtroom or war room technology support, including advising on appropriate on-site equipment needs and building the trial database
• Coach and develop less experienced/skilled colleagues in your area of expertise – provide guidance on specific engagements, and provide performance feedback and coaching for ongoing career development
• Develop engagement proposals and budgets in conjunction with Project Managers
• Attend introductory and pitch meetings with clients
• Work in close partnership with Trial Services colleagues to pursue engagement opportunities and serve clients as part of a seamless team
• Help develop and execute strategy to grow the Trial Services practice on a local and national level
• Work in close partnership with FTI colleagues in other practices to cross-sell services and recognize opportunities to expand FTI’s involvement in Trial Services engagements
• Achieve target utilization and target revenue origination goals (level dependent)
• Travel as required to attend client meetings and staff on-site engagements
Basic Qualifications:
• 7+ years of experience in visual communications or technology consulting in the legal industry
• A history of repeat clients
• Demonstrated proficiency in leading people in a team environment
• Working knowledge of PowerPoint and other current design software OR proficiency in trial presentation software and database management
• Excellent communication skills – written and verbal
• Flexibility - ability to work under tight deadlines, ability to handle multiple tasks through prioritization and time management skills
• Bachelor’s degree
