About The Role 

We are seeing an experienced Accounting Coordinator to join our Corporate team in São Paulo, Brazil. This position is responsible for the transactional processing of local accounting into the ERP Protheus, closing process, and reconciliation of accounts.

 

What You’ll Do    

Key responsibilities of the role include:   

  • Utilize in-depth knowledge of local books accounting practices to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Apply expertise in ERP Protheus to assist with day-to-day accounting processes and month-end closing.
  • Perform general ledger account reconciliations and provide backup support for all reconciliation tasks.
  • Manage payroll accounting, including other compensation and related expenses.
  • Upload reconciliations into the Blackline system, ensuring proper documentation and support.
  • Ensure timely processing and accuracy of accounting entries and reconciliations.
  • Assist in establishing or maintaining internal policies and procedures to guarantee the department’s adherence to quality standards, accuracy, timeliness, and Service Level Agreements.
  • Support internal and external audit requests related to accounting.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with the finance team and internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by participating in accounting specific training/skill development and establishing professional networks.
  • Prepare and upload tax filing information into the ERP system for compliance purposes.
  • Lead the monthly closing process, including the preparation of accurate P&L statements, balance sheets, and ensuring both BR and US GAAP standards are met.
  • Manage the relationship with outsourced tax partners responsible for income and sales taxes.
  • Reconcile intercompany accounts to address out-of-balance discrepancies.
  • Prepare and review SPED, ECF, and ECD documentation.

What You Will Need To Succeed        

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of post-graduation, professional work experience in accounting.
  • Experience within a professional services firm
  • Strong experience and knowledge of full-cycle accounting, including processing and month-end/year-end closing procedures. 

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Brazilian CPA (CRC) certification.
  • Experience with ERP and AP workflow systems, specifically Protheus (Totvs Protheus/Microsiga).
  • Strong accounting background with detailed general ledger experience.
  • Familiarity with foreign GAAP requirements, including US GAAP and IFRS.
  • Proficiency in English (speaking, reading, and writing) is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and account reconciliation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in leading or contributing to system and workflow improvement projects (ERP implementation experience is a plus).
