Position Summary
The Senior Analyst, Payroll will serve as the regional payroll specialist within the Asia Finance Team, based in Hong Kong. This role manages end-to-end payroll operations across Asia (including Hong Kong, China, Singapore, India, Malaysia, South Korea, and Japan), ensuring processes are timely, accurate, and fully compliant with local regulations.
As the primary point of contact for payroll-related matters, you will collaborate closely with HR, Finance, external vendors, and local offices while driving process improvements in a fast-paced multinational environment.
Key Responsibilities
· Collaborate closely with HR and office representatives to collect and verify payroll data, ensuring employee records, compensation, and benefits deductions are accurate.
· Coordinate with external payroll vendors to process year-end employer tax returns and tax clearance activities across the region.
· Partner with Finance team to reconcile payroll transactions, prepare general ledgers by cost center, and upload payments to Chrome River, ensuring timely processing of pension/social security contributions and tax withholding payments.
· Prepare payroll-related reports, including annual leave accruals, Long Service Payment (LSP) provisions, and various ad-hoc reports for HR, Finance, and business use.
· Participate in special projects related to payroll functions, HR, and Finance systems as required.
· Maintain up-to-date Payroll Narratives and identify opportunities to streamline and optimize payroll processes
· Perform other ad-hoc duties as required.
Key Requirements
· Degree holder in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance or a related field.
· Minimum of 3 years of solid payroll administration experience across Asia, with core expertise in Hong Kong, Singapore, and China; experience in additional Asian countries (e.g., India, Malaysia, South Korea, Japan) is advantageous.
· Proven experience in managing various payroll vendors across multiple countries and serving as the main point of contact for payroll matters.
· Strong understanding of employment ordinances, payroll regulations, tax laws, and statutory requirements in Hong Kong and other key Asian regions.
· Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management abilities, with a proven ability to meet deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
· Self-motivated, independent worker with a strong desire to learn and adapt.
· Fluency in English, Cantonese and Mandarin (both written and spoken).
· Proficiency in MS Office with strong MS Excel skills; experience using various payroll software and HRIS systems.
