About The Role
You will have a unique opportunity to work on firm-relevant, impact-driven projects, gaining exposure to the senior-most levels of the company (including our CEO and C-Suite), and benefitting from focused, hands-on development and training through experienced members of the Strategy & Transformation team.
The Strategy & Transformation team works directly with FTI’s Executive Committee to define and execute on FTI’s strategic and change initiatives, including:
Defining the firm-wide strategy across the portfolio of FTI business segments and regions
Identifying and driving organic growth opportunities within the segments and regions
Supporting M&A / business development activity (target scoping, due diligence, valuation)
Improving processes within internal corporate functions (e.g., Finance, HR, IT, Real Estate, CRM)
Instilling world-class client service and commercial excellence capabilities
This role has tremendous potential for growth and upside – Strategy & Transformation team members have been promoted within the team, as well as moved into line roles across other parts of FTI.
The Strategy & Transformation team is located in FTI's Washington DC office, next to our executive offices. This role requires limited, controllable travel (0-5%) to other FTI offices.
What You’ll Do
Disaggregate complex business problems, working with other members of the Strategy & Transformation team to develop hypothesis-driven analyses and recommendations
Conduct analyses on internal operational data, including project/staff management, financial performance, key operating indicators, and other related topics
Conduct objective research on current market trends and competitors
Build flexible financial models to support data-driven decisions
Develop original insights and recommendations to support leadership discussions and decisions
Prepare clear, well-written documents to facilitate discussions with senior leadership and drive impact
Communicate and present work product, analyses, recommendations etc. to clients, clearly and succinctly conveying key takeaways
Collaborate with team members in the Strategy & Transformation team and across the company, including (but not limited to) finance, accounting, HR, and other business segment operations teams

What You Will Need to Succeed
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Business, Finance, or other quantitative field (e.g. Engineering, Statistics, Sociology, etc.)
3+ years’ experience in corporate strategy, management consulting, or FP&A
Experience in executive-level presentations and executive support
Experience in preparing materials for senior leadership and executive consumption
Experience in one of the following: analytical and conceptual problem solving, financial statement analysis, equity research, macroeconomic analysis, marketing research, operations research, or change management
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; this position does not provide sponsorship
Ability to travel to clients and FTI office(s) as needed
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Business Administration or other quantitative field preferred
Proficient in PowerPoint and Excel
Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel and PowerPoint; Thinkcell and Tableau a plus
Solid quantitative ability and structured thinking, with relevant experience
Executive-level communication and influence
Strong project planning and time management; ability to work with limited supervision on assigned workstreams
Flexibility to work on multiple projects at the same time, while meeting deadlines
Excellent interpersonal skills, including collaborative work style, problems solving and conceptual thinking skills
Ability to express and present own opinion using objective argumentation skills
Ability to work in a team, to work under stress and to manage tight deadlines
Self-aware and proactively seeks out opportunities to self-improve; is responsive to coaching/ feedback
