Level Requirements

  • General background in IT, Finance, Economics, or Tax

  • Contributes to the development and incorporation of new concepts, techniques, and standards 

  • Technologic expert in IT, management, or one or more business enabling applications

  • May manage subordinates and Experienced specialists

  • Develops solutions to a variety of complex problems that require ingenuity and innovation  

  • Ensures solutions are consistent with organizational objectives

  • Exercises considerable latitude in deterring objectives and approaches to assignments

 

About the Role

The Information Technology Group (ITG) is a collection of people, processes and technology investments that are designed to achieve the business goals of FTI Consulting. The ITG Senior Applications Architect leads and is responsible for architecture, development, operational health, management, backup and recovery, and monitoring of all corporate service systems including applying best practices.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Conceives, designs, and oversees the implementation of enterprise-wide applications and systems development.

  • Conceives designs and oversees IT systems and application architecture.

  • Responsible for creating recommendations for add, change and delete to Service components and architecture as required, and in accordance with best practices.

  • Responsible for the implementation of all modifications and changes to the technical environment under their responsibility.

  • Defines and maintains tasks, processes, procedures and the overall plan used for disaster backup and recovery of their environment.

  • Analyzes and maintains operational metrics for trending.

  • Analyzes performance data to ensure optimal usage of the resources available.

  • Responsible for the organizing, executing and maintenance of:

    • Operational Calendars

    • Use and compliance with FTI’s Change Management Control Process

    • Incident reporting and tracking

    • Define, use and compliance with the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) standards

  • Responsible for providing high quality project management services on all assignments with little to no involvement from management.

  • Ensures that the business and technical architecture of delivered solutions match customer requirements.

  • May directly supervise other staff in the completion of projects and assigned tasks.

  • Provides input to and manages all budgetary expenses as it relates to the matrix team.

  • Matches recommended architecture changes and uplifts to business need.

  • Proactively engages management as necessary to resolve issues and ensure awareness of potential dangers to the environment.

What You Will Need To Succeed   

Basic Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or equivalent job experience

  • 12 years of application or software development experience; 4 years within FTI

  • Minimum one High-level certification (Project Management Professional (PMP), MS Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD), ITIL Intermediate, ISACA Cert)

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Expertise with development of solutions in the Microsoft .Net development platform

  • Expertise in architecture, implementation and management of enterprise ERP solutions.

  • Ability to effectively communicate and coordinate with senior business management and peers.

  • Strong business and technical process design and documentation skills.

  • Possesses a high level of technical/functional expertise and knowledge.

  • Industry expertise of best practices, standards, and technology.

  • Understands and applies policies and procedures.

  • High level certification in core area (MCSE, MCAD, CMSD, CCIE or CCIE Written).

  • Senior level Project Management experience.

  • Daily time entry to record billable and non-billable time.

  • As developed and coordinated upon request by supervisor.

  • Support other IT staff with open and unresolved issues.

  • Provides on-call support via cellphone 24 x 7.

  • Take on responsibilities as a backup or alternate for other IT staff.

  • Cover and resolve any outstanding Service Desk related issues in an effort to help all IT members resolve 

    tickets as quickly and efficiently as possible.

  • Physical labor from time to time, which may include moving equipment, furniture, etc.

  • Periodic travel required, sometimes with little notice.
