About The Role

As professionals in FTI’s Corporate Finance team we are focused on our clients’ strategic, operational, financial, and capital needs by addressing the full spectrum of financial and transactional challenges faced by corporations, boards, private equity sponsors, creditor constituencies and other stakeholders.

Our Data & Technology Transformation practice help address these client challenges through the delivery of data solutions focused on shareholder value creation. Our team is composed of a mix of data experts across the Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Engineering, Data Architecture, Analytics and Data Visualisation domains. We work with a diverse spectrum of clients and industries from start-ups to large scale Fortune 100 organisations.

Being part of our team means working with others to understand and communicate the client's issue, design, and build data solutions that suit their needs. As a Director in our Data Science expert group, you will also help the team by exploring new methods, supporting proposition development and Go-To-Market activities, with a focus on the area of AI. You will also mentor junior colleagues and lead workstreams on bigger projects.

What You’ll Do

• Analyse and interpret complex data sets to develop actionable insights and solutions.
• Collaborate with various stakeholders to define and refine data requirements and strategies.
• Create customized solutions that meet clients' data infrastructure and business needs, delivering the best results and value for the client.
• Execute all elements of AI/ ML model development including data enrichment, sampling, exploratory analysis, feature engineering, model assessment, development, calibration and validation.
• Implement and manage analytics and AI projects / workstreams, ensuring they align with business objectives.
• Utilise your knowledge of ETL to develop data pipelines and query APIs.
• Design and develop scalable and robust analytical models.
• Work as part of a team to deliver client solutions focused on delivering return on investment.
• Provide consultancy on best data practices, efficiencies, and potential areas for improvement.
• Lead and manage project teams, setting objectives, and ensuring timely delivery.
• Own daily interactions with client and seek ways to maintain and develop trusted relationships.

Responsibilities

·       Define data requirements and strategies for propositions and specific client projects.

·       Own model evaluation, development, calibration, and deployment processes.

·       Manage analytics and AI projects, ensuring they align with business objectives.

·       Design and develop scalable and robust analytical models.

·       Foster a data-driven culture within the organization.

·       Identify novel client use cases for AI / ML and analytics and helping to bring these to market.

·       Keep up to date with the latest technology and AI trends through active research and attendance to industry events and forums.

·       Work independently while demonstrating accuracy and attention to detail.

What You Will Need to Succeed

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s degree or Doctorate in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in data analysis, AI/ML, and management consultancy.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proven ability to work independently and stay self-motivated.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience with project management.
• Expertise in popular data science tools and programming languages (e.g., Python, R, SQL, Git, Docker).
• Experience in deploying machine learning models, MLOps and maintaining AI systems.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage projects.
• Prior experience in a leadership role or leading cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in the following:
• Data Modelling / Architecture LLMs and / or generative AI models
• Data Visualisation Cloud technologies (e.g. AWS / Azure)
• Consulting / Client facing experience e.g. Requirement gathering workshops, solution design with non-technical stakeholders, proposal development 
• Certifications in Project Management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2)
