Essential Qualifications and Experience
- A first-class or upper second undergraduate degree and a master’s degree in economics, statistics, econometrics, computer science or a related quantitative field from a university with a reputation for excellence in these subjects.
- At least 4 years post-graduation professional experience in a role that requires the direct application of the above subjects. Examples include roles in economic consulting, economic research and policy analysis for a financial institution, government department, industry regulator, regulated firm or think-tank.
- Experience with using Python, R, or a similar programming language to implement statistical and econometric analyses and graphical visualisations of these.
- A genuine interest, ability and experience in applying economics, statistics/econometrics and data science to solve complex, unstructured problems.
- A deep understanding of the core principles in economics (especially microeconomics), statistics, and econometrics.
- To be able to communicate effectively both orally and in written reports, to explain complex analyses in simple, intuitive, and non-technical terms.
- Project management/workstream management experience.
- Experience of managing and mentoring junior staff.
- Genuine interest in using newer tools (e.g. LLMs) to supplement and refine work product in an appropriate way.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong attention to detail.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- An understanding of the basic principles of finance and accounting (especially in relation to valuation).
- Experience with SQL for data management and retrieval.
- Experience with Stata and MATLAB.
- Familiarity with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or scikit-learn.
