About The Opportunity:

FTI is looking for investment research professionals and/or CPA’s with 2 to 5 years of experience with a buy-side, sell-side or “Big 4” accounting firm. As a Senior Consultant, you will be responsible for providing forensic accounting and analytical skills to various client situations. This is an excellent opportunity to become a player in a leading practice in the activism and hostile M&A space.

Primary Duties:
•Responsibility for the day-to-day activities of projects including interaction with client personnel, other team members, and professionals from other firms involved in the engagement.
•Organize information to facilitate effective data access and analysis.
•Perform industry and company research utilizing online tools and publicly available information, assist in preparing reports and schedules, and develop and maintain productive working relationships with internal and client personnel.
•Apply accounting, financial and analytical skills to various client situations and practice disciplines, such as detailed reviews of financial statements, public disclosures and underlying accounting records.
•Maintain detailed working paper records of reflecting assumptions, methodologies, and sources of information employed during the performance of all analytical tasks.
•Deliver a quality product within established timeframes.
•Prepare written analyses and other reports, as necessary, to be utilized for private senior management and board discussions, as well as public investor presentations and fight letters.

Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Accounting
•CPA, CFA or equivalent
•1+ years of buy-side, sell-side research experience or diverse external audit experience within public accounting firm

Preferred Skills:
•Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
•Strong technical skills, with detailed knowledge of SEC reporting requirements.
•Strong written and verbal communication skills.
•Ability to interface with team members and client personnel in demanding, deadline-driven situations.
•Proficient with PC environments and related software, including Microsoft Office applications. Advanced skills in Excel.
•Proficient use and analysis of computer models and development of dynamic spreadsheet applications.
•A strong aptitude for quantitative and qualitative analysis.
•Ability to work independently in fast-paced, multi-tasked environment.
•Ability and willingness to learn and adapt in an ever changing environment to meet client needs.
